The Promise of Tomorrow

Chapter 34

"We're back!" Y/n shouted in a loud and boisterous voice as he kicked the doors open, causing everyone to turn and look at him and Shido. "Where have you two been? Don't you know how worried we were?" Tama-sensei asked in a very anxious tone. "Yeah, sorry about that. I needed to let my built up energy out. We're not swimming until tomorrow, right?" Y/n asked rhetorically as he looked around. 

"Oi, Tonomachi, have you seen Johannes around?" Y/n asked and Tonomachi shrugged. "I dunno at this point. After asking both Tama-sensei and Murasame-sensei about his room, he basically holed himself up there," Tonomachi answered and Y/n sighed, knowing this was the result of the Yamai Twins basically wanting to hunt him down for not so good reasons. 

"I can find him for you if needed to be," Origami suggested in a blank and monotonous tone. "Nah, no need. I think it's best that he hides for the moment," Y/n replied in a low voice, glancing at Ellen who was merely passing by. Origami then turned around and noticed the person he was staring at.

'She's your enemy, isn't she?' Origami asked via a telepathic link among supervisors. 'Yeah, she is. I assume you probably read back through my past as to why I want to target her,' Y/n answered as Origami turned around and just answered,

"Don't. Murasame-sensei says so."

This was a shock for Y/n. Why wasn't he allowed to fight Ellen? This wasn't right, none of this was right. Immediately, he bolted outside and walked towards Reine who was with the Yamai Twins. "I assume that you two finally got enrolled?" Y/n asked, trying to keep his cool for a while. "Positive. Yes, Yuzuru and Kaguya got in the school," Yuzuru answered in a robotic voice as Kaguya went straight to the point and asked, "So, where's the little cutie?" 

"I dunno, he's probably holed up somewhere. He's socially recluse, so be careful not to scare him," Y/n advised as Kaguya smiled. "Oh please don't worry. We'll take care of his fragile heart," Kaguya reassured with confidence. "Reassurance. He will be in safe hands," Yuzuru added and Y/n sighed in relief, knowing he could trust them and gestured for them to leave. "I'll have a chat with Reine. Can you leave us alone for a while?" he requested and the twins left, eager to find Johannes. Y/n's usual easygoing look then turned to a serious and angry one. Trying not to snap, Y/n then asked her threateningly:

"Now, I think we should clarify things now, shall we, Reine?" 

At the lobby room where the students were a while ago, a small box could be seen moving slowly. Inside was Johannes crawling his way to the room, using the hologram screens to navigate his way to the boys' room. However, he stopped still when he saw two blips on his screen. 

Immediately, he stood still, but after getting a clear view in the hole he made, he sighed in relief as it was only Tohka and Shido. "Man, why are we the ones assigned to look for him?" Tohka complained, wanting to get some rest. "Well, we are some of the people Johannes trust. Haruka is kind of unresponsive and defiant. Tonomachi is well...Tonomachi, and Origami is kind of asleep so the responsibility is on us," Shido answered and Tohka sensed movement and looked at the box.

"Eh? Tohka, what's wrong?" Shido asked as Tohka approached the box. "I dunno, but my gut feeling says that someone is in here," she spoke in a serious tone, deeming the box as a threat. "It's just a box, no need to make a fuss over it," Shido responded as Tohka shrugged off his reply and was about to gesture for Sandalphon. Immediately, Johannes popped out of the box and shouted,
