The moment Kusakabe notice Y/n immediately falling asleep so suddenly, she suddenly noticed something was wrong. The fact that he quickly fell asleep in such a relaxed manner seemed like he was tranquilized. She attempted to go near Y/n but before she could do so, a familiar someone held her wrist, saying, "Don't even bother. I did it, so it's fine."
Turning around, Kusakabe saw Origami who was in her commander Astral Dress. "Origami! Don't tell me-" Kusakabe was soon interrupted with a nod. "Yes, this is what I intend to do. I'll be taking away his memory and yours. It's the only way you two will be off the hook.
If you have any questions, then I'll be free to answer them to clear your mind."
Origami's voice was firm and stern, showing the decision Origami chose. "You don't need to do this. You're risking your own future for nothing," Kusakabe tried to sway Origami from her decision. "No. I've already decided my future anyway. A line had been crossed the moment I had committed a grave sin," she told the lieutenant who was confused with what she's saying.
"What are you talking about?! You're innocent! There's no point with letting all the blame being put onto you!" Kusakabe insisted that Origami stopped what she was planning. "I am not innocent. Not by a long shot," Origami interjected with no hesitation in her voice as she approached Kusakabe and grabbed both sides of her head.
Staring directly at the lieutenant's eyes, Origami presented to Kusakabe Origami's own memories. Ksakabe witnessed in her very own eyes the way Origami killed each personnel in a brutal and agonizing way. Their flow of time were slowed down, making each stab a painful one, the sensation of being burnt felt like being sentenced to hell, and the helplessness as they all suffered a horrible and painful death until Y/n had arrived.
As Kusakabe's consciousness was sent back to reality, the lieutenant immediately denied what she saw. "No... No, no, no! I refuse to believe you did this! Please tell me you're just lying!" Kusakabe pleads to Origami, holding on to the sliver of hope for her subordinate is only trying to lie to save them.
"Unfortunately, no. That was something that I had done by my hands. After I knew that the DEM were the cause of the deaths of Y/n's parents, I made them repent by individually making sure they'd all suffer the same fate as his parents did, or worse," Origami spoke with hate in her eyes. "They manipulated his parents into doing a horrendous act and made it look like an accident when they died.
I'm just returning the favor."
Kusakabe couldn't believe what she's hearing directly from Origami. There wasn't any lie and Kusakabe was horrified that Origami had turned into a cold and ruthless killer in the name of love. Origami awaits what Kusakabe will do. Will she try and arrest Origami, or will she side with her? Kusakabe took a deep breath and thought about the consequences of both of her potential decisions.
"If I decide to let you go, how many people will you kill?" Kusakabe asked, wondering how far will Origami go. "I can't guarantee a number, but I can specify that I won't kill any innocents. To be frank, I wanted to serve you in the shadows, but they're going to be keeping an eye on you," Origami answered with sincerity in her voice about how she wanted to continue working with AST.
"I see... Then do what must be done," Kusakabe accepted her fate and let Origami do as she wishes. "Sleep." Origami commanded and soon enough, the lieutenant laid down on the grassy ground, her eyes closed as she was subjected to deep slumber. Placing her hand on Kusakbe's head, Origami started to block off any memories that connects Kusakabe to her.
