I look over to Sky and she stutters for a second.
"I- don't know-" she says.
"Oh sorry hunny" my mom says.
"May I use the bathroom, Aja?" Sky asks.
"Always my dear" Aja replies.
Dan darts a look over to me.
"I'll be right back" I say.
I walk into Dan and Aja's house and go find the bathroom.
"Sky?"
"Please go away Daniel" Sky says with her voice cracking.
I open up the door to find Sky sitting on the floor crying.
"Sky please. Its fine. She can be like that sometimes."
"I can't do it Daniel, you don't understand."
"I completely understand. I don't have my family for about a year on the road then I'm constantly in the studio"
"So? I don't know if my family is alive, or if they're injured or if they don't care" Sky says.
"We'll figure it out Sky."
I touch her hand and point out to her the wedding ring, remembering every single moment of that day. She was so damn beautiful. Her curly burnette hair in that dress. She wore a perfect amount of makeup, as if she needed any. We danced back down the aisle. So many people laughed at us. Dan sang a little bit and Wayne was on the acoustic. Ben and Soleil were dancing. It was absolutely perfect.
I hug her and stand up. Grabbing her hand and pulling her up. I'm so thankful she chose me. Thankful Dan chose Aja that day. I'm happy that she wanted me in the end. I'm forever thankful. God gave me a second chance.
I grab her hand and pull her and myself up.
"C'mon Sky"
"Can I just stay here for a bit?"
"I'm sure everyone wants to see you, but sure. Want to talk to Aja?"
"No, I'll be fine"
I walk out and shut the door behind me and Aja is standing in the kitchen.
"Is she alright?" Aja asks.
"She's fine, she just needs a few minutes alone" I say.
"Platz, you really need to talk to your parents about stuff like that. They should know what to say and what not to say." Aja says.
"I know, I know" I reply.
I walk outside while Aja remains in the kitchen cooking for the Barbeque. Tonight, I thought would be better.
"Is your wife alright?" My mom in a sassy tone.
"My wife? Excuse me she's the love of my life and your daughter-in-law. Whether you agree or disagree with her past is completely up to you. She deserves so much better than me. But she chose me. You may have heard some whispers about her story on social media. But who believes anything online nowadays? If you're going to be rude to her, you might as well get out of the rest of my life because I plan on her being in it. I don't want anyone else. She's the only one I'd choose. I don't care how sweet you think all the fans are and that they are cleaner and don't have a bad past. They only want me for what they've heard. I'll never plan on being with anyone other than Sky. You don't even treat your grandchild right. If you plan on staying in my life, then you have to plan on staying in Sky and Drew's life too. I don't care what anyone has to say. I love both of them with all my heart." I yell.
My mom widens her eyes and just stares at me. I look over and see Sky has been standing at the door the whole time.
"I'll get going, come on" My mom says.
My brother walks over to me and whispers, "you're right, You're doing good buddy. Always stand up for who you love" and then he gives me a hug.
Sky walks over to me and digs her head into my shoulder.
"I'm sorry" she whispers.
"Get a room!" Ben says.
Dan, Aja, Wayne, and Lexi burst out laughing.
I laugh a little bit too.
"Shut up" I say, "let me hold Alexa"
Soleil brings Alexa too me and sets her down on my arms. Ugh. She's so cute.
"Is she daddy's little girl?" I ask.
"I don't know, she seems scared of him sometimes" Soleil says.
"Yeah he does look a little bit goofy. I'd probably be scared too" Sky says jokingly.
"Shush Sky" Ben says.
After we all eat, we decide a campfire would be a great way to end the night.
Soleil, and Lexi went home with Alexa and River, but Ben and Wayne stayed.
Dans mother and Wayne's dad are still here. Other than that, its just Mac, Dan, Ben, Wayne, Sky, Drew, Arrow, Aja, and I.
Dans mother is holding Drew and tickling him. Drew's laughter is the best thing ever.
"Hey, Ben, what ever happened to um- what's her name- Maddie!?" Wayne's dad asks.
"I'd rather not talk about it, please"
"Oh not good?"
"No." Ben says and looks down at his shoes.
We all know what happened. Touchy subjects tonight.
"I better get home. I shouldn't stay out too late" Ben says.
"Oouuhhh who's the responsible one now?" Wayne says.
"I better get going too" Dans mom says.
We all give Dans mother and Ben a hug and watch them leave.
"I need to leave," Wayne's dad says, "Debbie will get worried"
"Bye dad, Im going to go too." Wayne says.
We repeat hugging them all and sit back down.
"Guys, its late. Drew's asleep on the grass. You should just spend the night here and leave in the morning." Dan says.
"Are you sure?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'll show you to the guest room" Aja says, "Dan, you can put out the fire. I'll carry Arrow up to her bed."
"Okay babe" Dan replies.
I pick up Drew and carry him to where Aja guides us.
"We have a bunk room with 4 small beds for kids in here. You can place him here and I'll show you the room you guys can sleep in." Aja says.
"Thank you Aja" I say and place Drew down and tuck him in.
"Follow me" she says.
We both follow her as she says and we're greeted into a quite large room with a queen size bed and all the stuff you'd normally see in a room.
"There is a bathroom connected on your left" Aja says.
"Thanks" Sky says.
"And if you guys...you know...want to do stuff, we're fine with that because our room are across the house." She says and then winks.
"Oh my gosh! Aja!" Sky says in a girly tone.
"Scoot Aja, scoot," I say jokingly pushing her out the door.
"Daniel" Sky says laughing.
Sky is so damn beautiful. I'm really in love with her. I always will be.
Her voice, laugh, face, personality, actions, and everything. Everything about her. I can't find one imperfection. All her "imperfections" are what make her perfect.
She's mine. Forever. No matter what.
