CHAPTER 10

Silas pov continued

A big goofy grin breaks out on my face and I tell her she has been asleep for about 30 minutes. Slowly she sits up and asks "Can I please use your bathroom?"

"Of course, I just want to make sure that you're able to stand on your own, Aggele mou." She looks at me with curious eyes and asks "What does Aggele mou mean?

"Are you sure you want to know?" I ask. She smiles sweetly and nods her head. "It means my angel in Greek." She blushes bright red, but she smiles at me shyly.

Sang stands up and I'm right by her side, just in case she sways again. Okay, who am I kidding?  I just want to hold her in my arms one more time. Opening my bedroom door, I show her to the bathroom. She quickly walks in and shuts the door.

Hearing noise in the hallway, North walks over and asks "Is she okay?" Just then, Sang opens the door, looks up at North, and quietly closes the door again.

North slumps a little and knocks on the door. "Sang, please come out, so I can apologize to you." She opens the door and peeks out. "I'll be out in a minute; can I meet you both in the living room, please?" The door shuts again without her waiting for our answer.

I grab North's arm and drag him to the sofa and whisper "Be nice!" He shoots me a look that if looks could kill, I would be 6 feet under. We wait a few minutes and then hear the bathroom door open.

Sang sits down in a chair near the sofa, but keeps her eyes down. "North, it's very nice to meet you and I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier, both times." Her words are quick and quiet, but clear.

North stands up and kneels down next to her chair. "Baby, there's nothing to be sorry for. I'm the one who acted like a 24k jackass." He reaches over and gently lifts her chin to look in her eyes. "Did that dumbass Greg hurt you and do you forgive me?"

Sang blushes again and gives North a demure smile. "Of course, I forgive you North. There really isn't anything to forgive. Greg didn't hurt me, but he really scared me."  I see her look over and notice her cart.

"Can you guys give me a few minutes to put my stuff away and then we can talk more, un-unless you have somewhere to be?" she questions as she stands up and grabs her cart.

A second later, North and I receive a text on our phones. I glance down at my phone and there's a text from Gabe telling us to get our asses over to Nathans quick. We both forgot that we had plans to meet the guys for a cookout.

I look at North and we have a silent conversation and decide to ask Sang to the cookout. Sang looks at us in confusion and asks "Are you both all right?"

"Sang, would you like to go to a cookout tonight? " I ask. "A friend of ours is throwing it and we promised to be there. We would really like it if you would come with us."

She looks at us and smiles sadly. "I'm very sorry guys, but this has been an unbelievably crazy day for me. So much has happened and I don't really feel up to meeting anymore new people tonight." I give her a questioning look, but she avoids my eyes.

"Baby, are you sure we can't talk you into the cookout?" North urges. "There'll be lots of really good food and our friend has a pool."

"Thank you for asking me, but I'm going to fix some dinner, take a long, hot bath and go to bed. Despite my nap earlier, I'm really exhausted." With that Sang stands up and walks over to her cart.

I consider snatching her up and carrying her to the car, but I know I can't do that. So, I walk over and open the door. Sang and North walk out and I lock the door.

"Now that you know us, please don't be a stranger" I tell her. Aggele giggles and I swear it's the sweetest sound I've ever heard. "That works both ways guys. I should be home most days, but I have to go to registration on Monday."

"Registration for what?" North asks. "I start school next Wednesday. I only moved here about a week ago, so I have to register with the district and schedule my classes" Sang says in her musical voice.

"Which school are you going to?" he asks. "Ashley Waters, I'll be a sophomore there" she replies. North and I exchange looks again and I say "Well isn't it a small world, we'll be going there to. We're sophomores and so are our friends."

"Do you need a ride to school Sang?"  I ask and hope her answer is yes.
