CHAPTER 36
Owen pov
As soon as the words "Miss Sorenson, we have one more thing to discuss" leave my lips, she looks at me with those big, beautiful eyes that are now full of apprehension. I get lost in those eyes for a few seconds.
Waking out of my slight stupor, I look around the room at my team. The boys tense, not sure what's going to happen next. Sean just smirks and waits for me to continue.
"Miss Sorenson, would you like our help to understand and test your powers?" I ask her calmly, but inside my heart is racing. If she does decide to join our family, we will have to hide both the ghost status and the invisibility, at least for a while.
You can see the wheels turning inside her and she looks up at me and says "I would greatly appreciate your help. Should I keep trying to test myself on my own?"
"You could, but I think it would be best for you to work with us. Our secondary observation of your invisibility will be invaluable to learning how it works. I need to leave soon, I have some business to attend to and then I will do some research on invisibility ."
"Once I have a better understanding of what we may be dealing with, we can make a plan of how to proceed." My voice is so formal, that it's almost cold. I wish it wasn't so hard for me to open up to people.
I just met this girl and she makes me want to let her in. That terrifies me! Okay, time to change the subject, until I know more.
"Misters Taylor, don't you need to be heading out to Uncles? Sean, do you need a ride to the hospital?"
"Yes Owen, I could use a lift to pick up my car. Come here Pookie, I need a hug to hold me through my shift" Sean flirts. Sang almost skips over to Sean and gives him a big hug.
"Bye Dr Sean, don't work too hard." She says with a smile and a giggle. "Now Pookie, no giggling right now or I'll never want to leave and I'll have to administer the giggle cure."
She grins at him and tries to contain her laugh. "What's the giggle cure, Dr Sean?" Sang looks at Sean with curiosity in her eyes. Sean, the big flirt, gives her lips a brief kiss and whispers in her ear. I can't hear what is being said, but Sang has a very becoming blush on her cheeks now.
Sang moves over to where I'm standing and hugs me quickly, then says "Goodbye Mr. Blackbourne. Thank you helping me, I really do appreciate it."
"Miss Sorenson, when Victor gets back with your new phone, he will program it with all of our phone numbers. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me. Remember, even if you just want to talk, know that I will always be there for you."
Looking down at this small girl, I know she is going to change everything. My mind is reeling and I need to get out of here now.
"Mr. Lee, please update me when her phone is set up and if there are any new developments. Good afternoon, gentleman, Miss Sorenson." I say as I grab my phone from the table and head towards the door.
Quickly, I traverse the steps and head outside. Sitting in my car, I get lost in thought about our new bird. I'm startled out of my thoughts, when Sean gets in the car. Glancing over, I see both Taylor brothers getting into the black Jeep and driving away.
"Well Owen, what do you think?" I raise an eyebrow and look at him questioningly. "Owen, what do you think of Pookie? Sean says with a teasing glint in his eyes.
"Sean, our group will never be the same again. I can't decide if that is a good thing or bad thing, but it will be interesting to see where this goes."
He looks at me and smirks. "I knew you liked her." I shoot him a dirty look, but say nothing. There is nothing I can say, he knows me too damn well.
Victor pov
I return to my house as quickly as I could, with the newest iphone and a pretty pink case. As I pull in, Mr. Blackbourne and Dr Green are leaving. I wave to them and pull into my parking space in the garage.
Running up the stairs, my excitement builds as I move closer to my room. I stop outside the door to calm myself and then lean against my doorway. Sang's sitting on my couch, like a beautiful, tiny princess, holding court over my brothers.
She glances over and gives me a huge smile. My breath catches and even from across the room, her eyes hold me.
For all of the wealth that my parents have, no one has ever looked at me the way she does. Sweetness and warmth radiate from her and I want to wrap it around me like a warm blanket on a cold day.
Quickly, I move over to the table and start working on her phone. Adding number and waiting for apps to load, I make quick work of preparing her phone.
"Princess, can you come here for a minute?" Crap, I didn't mean to call her that. Sang moves across the room and sits down next to me.
"Princess?" she asks me. "Yes Sang. When I walked in you looked like a beautiful princess holding court for her loyal subject." She blushes a pretty shade of pink, but gives me a shy smile.
"Have you ever used a cell phone" I ask her. "No Victor, my parents would never have allowed it" I walk Sang through the basics and soon she's using the phone like a pro. She asks a few questions, but figures out most things on her own.
"Sang, why don't you send out a group text to give everyone your number?" I say to her. She plays with the phone for a few minutes, but looks my way and says "Victor, can you show me what I'm doing wrong?" Oh, I love to hear her say my name.
I explain to her what she needs to do and she corrects her mistake.
Sang: Hi guys, this is Sang. My number is (843) 777-7777. xo
Dr Green: Oh Pookie, I knew you couldn't wait to get your hands on me. xo right back at you sweetie.
Mr. Blackbourne: Thank you Miss Sorenson. Dr Green behave.
Nathan: Thanks Peanut. What movie do you want to watch? xo
Kota: Mr. Blackbourne, if you didn't guess already, Sang is all set up with her phone.
Gabriel: Trouble, can I please finish doing your hair? xoxoxo
Sang: No Gabe, not right now. I want to watch a movie and then maybe we can play a game? :D xo
Victor: What movie would you like to watch Sang? And what game? xo
Silas: I vote we watch the Avengers and then play Truth or Dare. And that Aggele mou sits with me on the couch. ;) xoxo
North: Silas, don't make me come over there and kick your ass. Don't put up with any crap from them Sang baby. xo
Dr Green: Hey, I want to play truth or dare with Pookie! Maybe we can play sometime? xo
Luke: Thanks Cupcake! I can't wait to see you tomorrow. What time are we meeting for registration? xo Sang
Gabriel: What no xo for me? I'll remember that man.;/ Hells to the yeah on the truth or dare. Trouble, you're going to love my dares. xoxo
Sang: Sure, Dr Sean. I would love to play with you. xo
Dr Green: ;) Anytime sweetie and I do mean anytime. xo
Mr. Blackbourne: Miss Sorenson, please watch how you phrase things!
Sang: What? Oh, sorry! :(
Dr Green: Don't mind Owen, Pookie. He's a stick in the mud sometimes. You can play with me anytime you want, any way you want. ;)
Mr. Blackbourne: DR GREEN, STOP NOW!
Kota: We're meeting at the school parking lot at 8:00am sharp. Sang, Silas said he will bring you in tomorrow. xo
Dr Green: Fine, I'll stop, for now. Good night sweetie!
Silas: I got Aggele mou. xo
Sang: Thanks Silas! Night Dr Sean. xo
Mr. Blackbourne: No truth or dare. Last time you almost got kicked out of the house, so no. Please do not keep Miss Sorenson there too late. Mr. Korba, please take her home at a respectable hour.
Silas: Yes sir!
North: Be good Sang baby. Text me, if they get out of hand and I will beat them up tomorrow. xo
Luke: Have fun Cupcake! Dream of chocolate chip pancakes for me. xo
Sang: Luke & North, have fun working. Good night! Xo
Mr. Blackbourne: Gentleman, we have never had a girl in our group, so remember to treat her like a lady!
Victor: I am willing and I will obey!
Kota: I am willing and I will obey!
Nathan: I am willing and I will obey!
Luke: I am willing and I will obey!
Silas: I am willing and I will obey!
Gabe: I am fucking willing and I will fucking obey!
North: For once, I am willing and I will obey!
Dr Green: I am willing and I will obey, but only if she wants me to! ;D
Mr. Blackbourne: Dr Green really, behave please!
Dr. Green: Fine, I'll behave. What about you, Owen?
Mr. Blackbourne: I am willing and I will obey!
The group chat ends and I look around the room. We decide to watch The Avengers and I notice that Gabe has an ornery look on his face. That never bodes well for us.
"Hey Trouble, how about after the movie we play a game of invisible hide and go seek?"
