Chapter 6

Silas pov

I got in this morning at around 7:00 am after a long, frustrating assignment for Mr. B. But no assignment's complete until I finish the paperwork and that took about an hour. Luckily, they let me skip the family meeting, so Mr. B will catch me up later. I crash hard on my bed and am instantly asleep

I've been asleep for about 4 hours, when I heard noises next door and figured that we must have new neighbors. So, I roll over and go back to sleep.

Maybe another hour passes and I hear someone turn their radio on full blast. I pound on the wall in a universal warning of, Hey jerkface, turn down the music or I'm going to come kick your ass. I hear the music turn off and sweet silence prevails.

Just as I start falling back to sleep, I hear that stupid radio turns back on. I jump out of bed and throw on a pair of pants and my favorite Red Sox t-shirt and storm out my bedroom door. Then stomp down the hall and out of my front door.

There I am standing in front of 804's door and I'm just fuming. I know that it's about 1:00pm, but I've had way too little sleep within the last 3 days. This jerk better learn to keep it down or he's going to become well acquainted with my fists.

I pound on the door and wait for a response, but get nothing. I pound on the door again and I hear "Ouch, hold on" in a small feminine voice. Then that annoying music stops.

"What do you want?" I hear a trembling voice say. I glare at the door. "Will you turn down your music, I'm trying to sleep" I growl. "That is why I pounded on the wall before, to get you to turn it down" I snark. My brain wants to shut down and sleep at this point, but this conversation needs to happen.

"Sorry, I'm new here and didn't know what the pounding meant. Please, I 'm not trying to cause trouble, I'll make sure to keep the volume down" she squeaks through the door.

My face softens as I wake up a bit. Then I ask "Did I hear you say ouch before?"

"Yes, you startled me and I bumped my head on the door' She replies in a quiet voice." Please open the door, so I can see if you did any permanent damage?' I ask nicely.

"My name is Silas Korba and I live next door in 805. Sorry, that I yelled at you. Will you please let me make sure that you're all right?" I say in my usual gentle voice.

She unlocks the door, but leaves the chain attached. I look down at her with a thoughtful expression as she peers out at me. "Please open the door all the way. I can't help you, if I can't see you' I say with as much compassion in my voice as possible. I didn't mean to make her hurt herself. Great first impression, Silas, I scold myself.

The door shuts and I hear the chain being taken off. The door opens again and there stands a tiny blond girl with her hair covering her face. I can't wait to see what she looks like, I think with anticipation.

"What's your name?' I gently ask her.

"My name is Sang Sorenson and it's very nice to meet you." she says with a small smile on her face.

'Where did you bump your head?' I tenderly ask. She points to the right side of her forehead and whispers "Here". I move closer to her, reach over and tuck a piece of her hair behind her ear. Now that I can finally see her face, I notice how angelic she looks. Then my eyes move down her body.

She's small, maybe 5' or 5'1, so tiny compared to me. Her face's heart shaped with large emerald green eyes, a button nose, and perfect pink kissable lips. She looks like an angel fallen from heaven, Aggele mou.

That body, while tiny, is a shapely hourglass. I decide in that moment, that I could easily stare at her for hours. She said her name's Sang. I like that name and I think I could really like her.

Shaking myself out of my slightly lustful musings, I look at Sang. She's staring at me expectantly. "Can you show me again where you bumped your head?" I ask sheepishly.

She smiles hesitantly and points to the right side of her forehead, near her hairline. I raise my hand and gently move her hair back and see a small red mark, but no bump. She flinches a little at my touch.

"There's a small red mark, but I think you'll be fine. You might want to put some ice on it." I say remorsefully. "I don't have any ice yet, but I'll be fine" she says. "I really am sorry that I bothered you with my music, I'll keep it down from now on." she says sweetly.

"I'm the one who is sorry that I made you hurt yourself and for being such a grump" I stammer, feeling like such a heel to have hurt this pretty little angel. "Please forgive me? I was out all night and got home really early this morning and was trying to catch up on sleep, and I never meant to be such an asshole to you" I ramble, each word picking up speed as they spew out of my mouth.

She reaches out and gently touches my arm and assures me that she's fine. My skin tingles at her touch, her skin's velvety soft. Wow, I'm so twitterpated!

"It was really nice to meet you Sang and I hope you don't hold my poor behavior against me" I eagerly say. "Would you like to hang out sometime?" I hope she says yes and I can charm her with my Greek awesomeness.

"Sure, but I have to go now" she says with a slight blush. "Bye and I hope you catch up on your sleep. Sleep well" she says sweetly and closes her door.

I stare at her door and suddenly my sleep deprived state catches up with me. Walking over to my front door, I open it, close it behind me, and throw the lock. A huge yawn hits me as I start to stumble my way back to my bedroom. I plop on my bed and start thinking about sweet beautiful Sang as I drift asleep.
