Chapter 2
Danny sat on my bed, pulling me to sit on his lap. I wasn't complaining it felt so perfect being in his arms. "Angel, why weren't you down stairs?" He asked again. "It's a long story." "I have time." So I told him. I told him about not being known and not allowed to leave. I explained everything about my mother and her hate for me. I even told him the little I know about my father. He didn't say much, just sat there holding me and listening to it all.
An half an hour into me explaining things to him, I stopped. I wasn't completely done, but I hated talking about everything. So instead I berried my head in his neck. "I'm so sorry. Angel, why don't you come home with me?" He asked gently rubbing my cheek. "I... don't know." "Please." The look in his eye was so priceless like he would do anything to take me away from my invisible life and let me be myself. "I guess one night won't hurt." I gave in causing a huge smile to spill across his face.

Danny POV
I had to get her out of there. My wolf was pissed that someone would treat someone like that, especially their own daughter. Who would purposely force their child to not have a life? I mean making the busy is one thing, but openly hating your child and hiding her from the world is a whole other thing. When Ashlynn finally agreed to come with me it got my wolf purring with excitement. She was honestly the most beautiful and breathtaking person I have ever seen. With her breath taking blue and greens eyes and golden brown hair, she couldn't get anymore beautiful. The way her hair was pulled into a loose bun and the way the strains surrounded her face made her look so innocent.
"Good, come on. Get everything you need, but bring extra clothes." I didn't dear mention that I wasn't ever going to let her be thrown back to her invisible world, of doing chorus and school projects. She nodded and got off my lap running to the bathroom. In less then five minutes she was packed with clothes, books and a school project. It was adorable how she was still worrying about school when we were out for a week. "Is it okay that I bring it?" She asked me, but still wouldn't look me in the eye. My wolf growled with frustration. He loved being treated like that by other people, but not by his mate. She was his equal and that's how he wanted her to be treated and act.
"Of course my Angel." I grabbed all her bags from her as we headed down stairs. She wasn't even off the stairs when Tanner, her half brother, pulled her into a hug. By the way he looked at her, I could tell that her family wasn't as bad as they seemed, he truly loved her like a sister. He looked up, "I'm happy that you finally met the person that can take you away from this hell." She didn't say much just gave him a smile and whispered something that sounded like thank you. We then moved to the kitchen, because that was the only way we could get out of the house. Her mother was sitting in a chair reading not even bothering to look up. John step forward pulling Ashlynn into a hug. "Good luck, and remember I will always love you like a daughter." See even he loved her, but not her mother. I shook his hand. "I'll call you tomorrow about everything. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I'll see you tomorrow when the pack is signed over." I stated formally. John nodded shaking my hand and then walked us out the door. Ashlynn headed off the porch, when John grabbed my shoulder stopping me. "Thank you, and I trust you will treat her right." My wolf was conflicted about that. He was pissed because John could have helped her, but happy about him loving her like a father should. "Always." I said before heading to the car with Ashlynn.
"Ready to go?" She looked over at me, with a shimmer in her eyes. "Yeah, what time is it?" "About seven thirty." I responded as we pulled out of the drive way and off the territory back to my pack that was right over the border. Once we passed the school her face light up at everything she saw. "It's so beautiful over here." "Angel, have you not seen over here before." She shook her head and continued to stare out the window. My blood boiled at the thought of that. She wasn't kidding that she didn't see much out of the attic. "When was the last time you shifted?" The question suddenly occurred to me. If she didn't see much, did they even allow her to leave to shift. "My sixteenth birthday, almost two years ago." That errand a growl that I couldn't hold back. Two years! She was only allowed to shift once, and it was the day that she had to! Ashlynn flinched back at my anger, snapping me out of it.
I couldn't scare my Angel. I needed her and everything about her. "I'm sorry, that just surprises me." I gave her hand a light squeeze as we finally pulled up to my pack house. Her eyes grew wide as she took in the size amazed. Helping her out of the rusty old truck, I guided her to the house. She shriveled up to my side afraid. I should have thought about that, she was going from invisible to the most important person in the most powerful pack, that can be life changing. "Come on, they will love you." I reassured before pulling her in the house with me. "Alpha." Many of my pack mates greeted. "Danny, we have..." My beta Conner trailed off as he saw my mate. I pulled her even closer to me not liking the look in his eye. "Ashlynn?" The way Conner said her name like it meant more the just a name concerned me. "Surprise?"
