Chapter 13

Danny POV

"Ugh...let's get this over with." I groaned as I opened the doors to my office. We won the game and I still had the meeting at three, but Dad wanted to have a meeting with me, Conner, Brandon, and Andrew. "That's the spirit." "I have more important things to be doing." "More like someone." Andrew mumbled. Conner and Brandon began laughing as I sat behind my desk. "Really, at least I have a love life." "Just because I'm not mated doesn't mean I don't have a love life." Conner defended. "Isn't that right Brandon?" Brandon was reading something on his phone with a distant look in his eye. A look that I knew all to well. "Huh, yay sure." He answered fast before going back to his phone. "What's going on with you?" Andrew asked eyeing him. It was so obvious on what was going on, if it got any more obvious it would have smacked them in the face. Conner and Andrew though have always been oblivious to everything. It's actually surprising that Andrew even noticed something was up. Maybe that hit in the head actually helped him a little bit.

"I thought we were talking about Danny's sex life." Brandon tried to throw the attention back to me. The problem with that though was as he said that the door to my office opened. My father and Ashlynn stopped in the doorway. She turned the brightest shade of red I'd ever seen on anyone. "Your talking about what?" She asked with her eyes wide. "Nothing, love." "Your right it's nothing, now." She was mad, but something told me there was something else to do why she was so mad. It couldn't have been what happened at the field, because we already talked about that. Well sort of, it was more like when we won the game I ran up to hug her and told her then. It was something else that was bothering her, and making her so angry. I guess it could be she just didn't want our private life being talked about, but her eyes said there was more to it.

"We weren't really talking about anything I promise, but come Here." She walked over to me sitting on my lap. With a sigh she laid her head against my chest as I held her close. Something big was bothering her, she would have still been mad if she was actually mad at me and not something else. "Okay, know that we've got the awkward moments over with. What's going on?" Conner asked my father. He walked over more and put the magazine he was carrying in front of me. Directly on the cover was a girl with blond hair and gray eyes. She had a smile on, but it looked fake. She looked tired and pained, but that was attempted to be hidden by make up and lights. In bright red font the headline read, 'First female wolf claimed to be found.' "What?" My growl roared through the room as I looked at the magazine. "How is that possible?" Brandon asked reading it over my shoulder. "It's not possible." My voice only held anger as I spoke. "How can she do that?" Conner asked. Ashlynn didn't say a word, her face stayed blank as she continued to sit on my lap.

"I'm going to kill him." Andrews growl roared through the room and pulled all of our attention to him. "Who?" "Johnson, that's a move from my our very beloved king." My Grandfather? Why would he do this? How would he even know? Very few even know about it. "What did you do?" It wasn't my growl, but my father's. "Johnson, must have told them about why I actually came." My blood boiled over and my anger sored to unbelievable heights. "What? You where suppose to help! All you did was make this worse! Know we have to come out and tell people the truth!" The room settled to silence as my anger burned like a flame.

"Wait, you just arrived today. They couldn't have planned all of this." Ashlynn's small voice came out being the voice of reason. "They had to have figured a way to do it, that's some one from the castle." Ashlynn studied the picture longer before looking up. "Why is it that you had to go claim your Prince tittle, but Danny didn't?" She asked finally looking up. "Ashlynn, you can ask questions...." "No, she's on to something." My father cut Conner off. "Well, when I turned sixteen, my Grandfather called and asked if I wanted to go to the castle and claim the title. That was it." I explained my side of the situation. "Wait really, I was told that I had to go. He said I was needed and that it was my wolf's honor to be prince." That's weird. Why would they tell us two different things. We are both direct blood line to the throne. More importantly how does any of this connect?
