Chapter 23

Danny POV

I didn't say a word about what I thought was going on. I couldn't afford for Ashlynn to get mad at me again. So instead we went home and both met with her father and spent the whole day together. She didn't get sick again, but I made sure we did nothing to strain her. We spent the rest of the day watching movies and snuggling on the couch. I loved the feeling of her in my arms and the way she pushed herself right up against me as we laid across the couch. My hands had a mind of there own as they traveled up and down her side tracing circles and patterns across any visible skin. We were laying in the attic with the lights off watching some movie that I wasn't paying attention to. "Danny, how do you expect me to understand what's going on while your doing that?" "Doing what baby, this?" as I asked that my hand slid over and began doing the same patterns across the visible skin on her chest. A wonderful light giggle escaped her lips as she smacked my hand. "Will you stop that?" Her voice wasn't angry, more playful and full of giggles. "I don't really feel like it." At this point my hand slipped down bellow the fabric of her shirt.

Another on of her intoxicating giggles filled the room. She turned around to face me with her back to the movie she was absorbed in not even two minutes earlier. "I know what you feel like doing, but I don't think I want to do that, not with you." She had a playful smile on and I could see the evil glowing in her beautiful eyes. "I better be the only one that you want to do what I'm thinking about with." I growled softly into her ear before kissing down her neck and jaw line, until I finally moved to her chest. She moved her hands into my hair and began tugging. "Says who?" She asked challengingly. My hands reached over grabbing her wrist pulling her hands away from my hair and pinning them above her head. In one fluid movement I pushed her back and moving me so I was on top of her straddling her waist. "I am the only one that can and will ever do this to to you." I growled darkly before crashing our lips together and pushing my tongue through her closed lips. Eventually I pulled away from the kiss, but only when my lungs were burning for oxygen. Even after I pulled away I didn't give them much oxygen, because I moved my lips down and began kissing her chest again.

"Um..." "What the?" Voices broke through my fog, but Ashlynns hysterical laughter is what pulled me completely away. I sat up, still straddling her. I turned my head a little to see Tanner, my sister and about six other younger pack members standing near by. Ashlynn was still hysterically laughing turning the brightest shade of blood red, while I struggled not to show the blush determined to fill my cheeks. "Having fun?" Brooke asked with a smirk. "A blast, what do you need?" I answered once I was sure no blush would slip onto my cheeks. "We were sent up here while the adults got ready for the pack meeting." Tanner informed me. Great, I forgot about that. "Your father already here?" "Yes everyone for the sub pack is already here too." "Where's the other kids?" Ashlynn asked. "Outside." I stood up from Ashlynn and pulled her off the couch. "Great, Brooke you stay up here with everyone. Tanner, I need you to go outside and get all this kids to come up here and then come find me because I'm going to need your help again." They both nodded and then he ran off down the stairs.

"Danny! I swear to God Danny if your not up here I'm going to kill you when I find you!" Conner's voice came booming up the stairs with the sound of thundering feet. "Please can you not kill me, sounds like a lot more problems for the pack." I answered back. He finally got to the top of the stairs and gave me a glare. "Have you been up here the whole time?" "Sense the meeting with my father." Ashlynn answered sweetly causing Conner to scowl more. "Are you kidding me?! You two have been up here the whole time, while I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off and getting screamed at by everyone!" Conner growled irritated. "Yup." I answered causally and began walking down the stairs

We went right to mine and Ashlynn's room. She grabbed clothes to change and I sat on the bed. Conner followed me in irritated. His mouth was about to open to yell when I held my hand up to stop him. "Before you dig yourself a whole, remember you may be my best friend, but I'm also your Alpha." He nodded and took a deep breath. "Okay, so the two guards that didn't tell us, have been waiting near your office for about two hours. I have managed to get everything ready for tonight, including cooking and Paige is still in her room with guards." Conner was calmer and didn't yell at me once. "Good, but what's got you so worked up?" Thats when his anger came back and he started pacing. "Dave, your father, and my father have been yelling at me and chewing me out about the fact we brought the three kids in. They kept yelling about it being a danger to our pack because they are prisoners from the king. Now that I told them to shut up that I know what I'm doing and that I'm the beta not them they have been freaking out about everything. Your father actually yelled about the fact that the plates were yellow, the color my mother picked out." I had to laugh at how ridiculous that was and how much it got under his skin.

He stopped pacing to scowl at me. "I'm glad you find this funny." Ashlynn walked out of the bathroom and came over to me on the bed. "You have to see the humor in that. I mean what's the point of them yelling at you about it, I'm the one that made the decision. Plus, you wouldn't have been able to change my decision about it even if you wanted to." "Can you explain that to them?" He yelled exasperated. "I'll take care of all of it. Where's Brandon and Lauren?" "I left Lauren in the kitchen with Logan and my mom. The three pains won't dare go near her especially with Aunt Holly and my mother with her." "I'm glad you thought that one out, let's go knock our lovely father's heads together."

With that, Conner, Ashlynn and I began walking down the hall to the stairs. "Danny!" Brandon yelled from near my office. "What?" "The guards are here." "I know, leave them. I'll handle them, after the pack meeting." I turned back around and continue my walk to the stairs. Soon Brandon caught up with us and we all fell in step with each other. I could feel the power and irritation rolling off all of us, there was no doubt that so could everybody else that we walked bye. As we passed pack members they kept their heads bowed, which is not a usual occarnce. "Danny, I'm going to go to the kitchen to check on how things are going." Ashlynn went to slip away from us, when Brandon grabbed her arms stopping her.

"Ashlynn, I wouldn't go in there, if I was you. Your mother is in there." "Why would she come?" She asked bewildered. "Baby, everyone in the pack had to come. She didn't have a choice." She scrunched up her face and gave me a pout of frustration. " Ashlynn!" Suddenly three hyper over excited girls came barreling out of the kitchen. Lauren and Elissa stopped before they went crashing into her, but Mia didn't. She squealed wrapping her arms around her, but had so much force Ashlynn began to fall forward. "Your brother is so cute! He just wiped butter all over Tanners face, when he was trying to ask if they knew where you guys were." Mia giggled into her ear, but was extremely loud. "Mia, Tanner is my brother." She said dumbly not understanding who else she was talking about. "Well, yeah but I meant Freddy is cute. Did Tanner tell you he..." "Mia don't." Tanners voice was stiff and full of caution as he walked out of the kitchen. There was Drama brewing and Tanner was hiding something, but I couldn't have cared less. I had things to do and Ashlynn to worry about.

"But Tanner..." "Stop." I commanded stronger then I meant to. They all turned to me with wide eyes. "Worry about Tanners drama and problems later. Honestly, he could have found out he's mate is from a rival pack or that he is gay, and I still wouldn't care. So let's focus on something I do care about, like my mate and the fact she is going to be in danger or the fact that my crazy grandfather's going to pay a visit and completely screw up my life." No one said a word, but stared at me. It came out harsher then I had meant it to, but they got my point. "You are right. Baby, go finish what you need to do, I'll be with the girl's helping Holly in the kitchen." Ashlynn flashed me a smile and kissed my cheek. Conner and Brandon kissed Lauren and Elissa then they all left. Tanner still stood there awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. "Tanner, just so we are on the same page, If whatever you're keeping from your sister hurts her, then I will rip your throat out, because at that point I do care." Tanner nodded in understanding, but not before fear flashed through his eyes.

After that the four of us went outside where everything was getting set up. Tanner went over to his father to talk to him as soon as we got out side. Brandon and Conner started moving tables. Beside it being a meeting about Ashlynn wolf it was a normal pack meeting as well, so we had to make sure there was tables for the food to be on. I didn't say a word or do anything, I just stepped on to the porch watching everything. My thoughts were running wield, between Ashlynn being sick and my Grandfather. I wasn't to worried about anything or anyone attack Ashlynns wolf, like I had been when the mess began. I knew, she was going to be in danger, but at the time the only true danger was the danger of ourselves and families.
