Chapter 31

Ashlynn pov

“Danny wake up!” I giggled jumping onto my indolent mate. He barely opened his eyes, when he picked me up and set me back on his side. “No, go back to bed.” He mumbled, before rolling over ready to sleep again. “Stop, you need to get up.” I whined with a pout. Today was the day his grandfather was coming and I wanted to spend time with him before I left to go to Tyler’s. “No, I just want to spend the whole day in bed.” He grumbled drowsily. “Fine, I’ll just go to Tyler’s earlier then.” I yelled frustrated before jumping off the bed and storming out of the room. I was trudging down the hallway, when I heard the door to our bedroom fling open. “Ashlynn!” Danny growled out. I refused to respond, he made his point clear that he would rather be alone. I was just doing what he wanted. When feet started thundering towards me, I began taking the stairs three at a time.

Once I got down stairs I sprinted towards the kitchen, where Holly, Elissa and Lauren were laughing.  I bolted into the kitchen as fast as I could, which only earned me a slightly confused looks from the three. Danny’s feet were getting louder and faster, so a did a very irrational thing. I ran to the pantry and closed the door. The light was still off and I didn’t want to make it to obvious that I was hiding in the closet. So I stumbled over to a place to sit. The problem was, someone hadn’t put away the food so I tripped over a plastic back. I slid backwards landing right on my butt with a thud. My back was leaning against the door as I attempted to ketch my breath. The door was yanked open quickly though and my back was thrown backwards so I was laying on the floor. Danny was glaring down at me, with a amused smirk on his face. “What are you doing in the closet?” “Putting away the food.” I lied like it was the obvious thing in the world. “Really? On your, back with the lights off? You do some pretty strange things, but this one might be a little to far fetch.” I gasped dramatically looking up at him with shock. “I don’t do strange things!” I defended outraged. He gave me a pointed look with a raised brow. “Your on the floor right now, of our pantry. I pretty sure that classifies as odd.” “It’s a very nice floor.” With that last odd sentence we both broke into laughter, unable to take it anymore.

“Get up.” He ordered between his laughter. “I’m coming.” I panted out waddling to my feet.  When I went to step out of the closest, Brandon and Conner walked into the kitchen. It didn’t help the both Ellisa and Lauren were laughing at me, and Holly was looking at me like I belonged in a asylum. “Do I want to know, why  you were in the closet?” “Don’t question my actions Conner. If I want to sit in the closet, then I will.” “You know you sound insane, right?” He asked. All I did was stick my tongue out at him, witched caused everyone to laugh lauder. “Honey, why were you hiding in the closet?” Holly asked. “Danny, said he wanted to stay in bed, so I was hiding from him.” When said out loud it sounded a lot more ridiculous then it did in my head, and it had sounded pretty insane in my head as well. Holly laughed before shaking her head, “ I did the same thing to your father, Actually I  still do that to your father, why do you think I’m here.” “See I’m not insane!” I yelled out Conner. “No, you’re still pretty insane.” Before I got the chance to counter back Danny spoke up. “Baby, let’s go out for a run.” He whispered into my ear. I nodded agreeing with him. “We’re going to head out for a run before I have to leave.” The mood in the room got really serious before they nodded with pity filling their eyes. Danny and I made our way towards the woods, when I went to shift he stopped me. “No, lets just walk.” So that’s what we did. We walked hand and hand threw the woods. We didn’t talk much, but we really didn’t have to. It was just enough being with each other was we walked, constant chatter would have been pointless.

“Baby, I’m going to miss you.” He whispered almost silently as we reached a cliff. I nodded not being able to find my voice and took a seat with my feet dangling off of the cliff. “I’m going to miss you too.” I finally managed to whisper out. Danny had sat down behind me, so I could rest back onto his chest. His big arms wrapped around my waist and bulging belly. The pack doctor was expecting me to go in labor in a mounth and half, which was faster then most werewolf pregnancy, but we weren’t exactly a normal situation. The first wolf genes and royal wolf genes, where speeding up the process at an extraordinary rate. We still didn’t know what the baby was, nor did we want to find out. We figured it was going to be more fun without knowing. “Love, what are you thinking about?” Danny softly whispered to me. I hadn’t realized I was stariing out into space. “The baby.” “He’s going to be the most perfect person any parent can ask for.” “And what if it’s a girl?” “She’ll be more then perfect, she’ll be just like her mother.” He whispered honestly before gently pecking my cheek. “Don’t say things like that. I’m never going to want to leave you.” I whispered my voice roar from emotion. “Then don’t, please.” He pleaded his voice cracking gave away to the fact he was crying slightly. “I have to, it’s the only way.”
