Chapter 33

Danny POV

The wind ripped through the field snatching loose brunches off the ground and weak ones right off the trees. The leaves danced in the air, while the Geese honked in terror. A storm was forming, surfacing in only a few hours. It was sad how much the upcoming weather represented my life. It was suppose to have been a fantastic day, because I was graduating High school finally, although with my grandfathers presence it felt more like a combat zone. Ashlynn and him had been flinging threats, promises and challenges back and forth sense the day they had met, but the longer it last the worse it was getting. I love her more then anything in the world, but she was hormonal from the pregnancy, stressed, and always on edge. It was just too much to handle for one person, which is why it felt so nice to be alone looking out the window of my office. The ceremony was starting in hour, so we were going to have to leave in half an hour. I had made some excuse to need to finish pack papers, just to get out of being with them. I felt guilty leaving her for a little while just because I needed a break, but I truly couldn’t take much more between the two of them. It would have just been easier to create an entire war and fight for years, then to have to deal with planned out mind games. I couldn’t handle all the mind games, not when both of the was always bringing me into them without any consideration about how I felt about them. Sure I despised my grandfather for many reasons, but that didn’t mean I wanted to be involved in his destruction, not if his destruction was this way. Pure blunt force would have been much easier.

“Starring out the window won’t solve your problem.” Dave mentioned as he walked into my office. I hadn’t even realized that the door opened, or how long he was standing there. “It seems to be doing a good job at it.” “No it’s doing a good job at avoiding your problems. The two of them are still fighting and she’s turning away from her morals more and more, weather you continue to stare out the window or not.” I spun from my spot to be face with his piercing blue eyes, the ones that Ashlynn seemed to be having more and more because of her anger. “What am I suppose to do about that?” “Fix it, you’re her mate.” “Fix it! Fix it! How the hell am I suppose to fix the fact that the love of my life is in an all right war through mind games with my dam grandfather? What do you want me to do, tell her it’s wrong to play games with his head and making threats? I would rather much rip his heart out of his chest! That doesn’t seem like a better option here!” I bellowed at him spitting out everything that I was thinking.

It was getting to a point that I forgot what we were even fighting to begin with. It was suppose to be the evil in the world, the torture my grandfather was administrating to his own followers. We were suppose to be protecting Ashlynn from those who where going to try to attack her because of the power and strength that she possessed. We were suppose to be stopping the fighting and creating peace all over the war, but all it was causing was a dam war zone in my own house. I was fed up with all of it! I just wanted to figure out how to get rid of all of our stupid problems and move on with my life. I wanted to be able to enjoy my time with my mate, forget about the fact I had stupid royal blood running through my veins and be able to run my pack without being bothered. I just wanted things to go as I had planned, not to the stupid plan the moon goddess had for me.

“Danny, listen to me. Exactly what you just said is what you’re trying to stop! Your suppose to be outweighing the evil not killing them, what is meeting evil with more evil going to do beside create even more of problems for everyone.” “Dave, do you have any better options over here? I don’t know how to fix this. I couldn’t tell you how to get her to go back to her morals and remember who she truly is. It’s not like she listens to me anymore anyways!” Dave eyes bore into me like he was searching through everything I was thinking, by just staring at me. “Danny, you know her better than any of us do. You know the way she thinks, what makes her smile and why she does everything she does. You know everything about what makes her tick and you sure the hell know how to get her back to who she is suppose to be, just think about it.” With that he turned and stormed out of my office leaving me standing their thinking. He was right, I should have known how to fix this, I did know more about her than she knew about herself.
