Chapter 32
Ashlynn POV
“Hello sir.” I squeaked out. Danny was still on top of me and had been for the last three minutes sense his grandfather spoke. We were both so thrown off and shocked by him being up, that neither of us knew how to answer him. Lightly I pushed Danny onto his butt, so I could squirm out from under him and stumble to my feet. The kings eyes grew extremely wide as his took in my pitied height, but growing belly. “Your pregnant, very pregnant.” I blushed profusely before nodding. “Yes sir, we are expecting in a month and half.” “Month and half? Fast pregnancy?” “Yes, our baby is almost as strong as his mother.” “Or her mother.” I added in to what Danny was saying, which caused Danny to laugh and peck my cheek. “Yes, love or her mother.” Danny’s grandfather studied us for a few moments, but didn’t say a word at first at least.
“Dear, what is that around your neck?” The mans greasy finger pointed to the chain that sat around my neck, the on that always sat round my neck with the up most grace and importance. “A necklace.” I answered sarcastically after my nerves calmed. I didn’t care who he was, it was a stupid question and he knew exactly what it was. It was also as if he was questioning my identity and my wolf by pointing out the easily resembled crystal glowing around my neck. “Yes, but is this the real one or are you just another decoy? You aren’t that pretty to be my grandsons Princess.” His eye searched into mine challengingly. He was only offending my to get me riled up. Danny growl roared from behind me as he pulled me close to his chest, I on the other hand didn’t even finch at his comment. It was just going to show him exactly what he needed to know and I wasn’t going to let it break that easily. “Sir, Whatch the little thing. A small leak will sink a great ship.”
With that I strutted off not caring weather or not Danny was following me. I got my point across that he wasn’t going to break me that easily and that’s all I needed. This was just the beginning to a very exhausting battle, and it was going to be the worse type. It wasn’t going to be a bloody battle and the strangest one was going to win, it was much worse then that. This battle with the king was going to be an all psychological, a game to see who could freak the other out first. I was ready for the game and ready to beat this once and for all. Enough was enough; I was done dealing with all of the crap from everything. It was my time to show the world what I was really made of and if he didn’t like it he could get the hell out of my way.

The sun was shinning directly into my eyes and Danny‘s hands kept dancing along my stomach waking me up. “Baby, you’re up.” He whispered softly when I pushed my eyes open. “Yeah, I’m up. We have school today.” I whispered over to him, which made him node sadly. The day before was Sunday, but it was Monday morning, and than we were graduating on Tuesday. We were so close to finishing, but not quiet there yet. “Yeah, Sweet pea. We do have school. Why don’t we get up and ready and eat some breakfast before we go.” I nodded before pulling myself out of bed and slugging over to the Closet of my clothes. I pulled out the summer dress I was wearing the first time, I met Danny and slipped it on. I lucked out because the dress was so flowing I still had fit in it with my stomach bulging as much as it was. I then quickly braided my hair, before slipping of comfortable flip flops.
“Ashlynn, what are you doing here?” Dave asked as Danny and I walked into the kitchen holding hands. “I couldn’t do it.” I whispered shyly with my head down. Although it felt amazing be back with Danny and knowing I was done hiding I felt like a failure for not being able to complete my own plan. “Good, I’m glad.” Dave answered before pulling me tight into his arms. “Why?” “Because I couldn’t stand the thought of Brandon and Andrew being the only one’s protecting my beautiful daughter.” “Wow, thanks for all the support you have in us.” Andrew scoffed walking into the room. “Well in his defense, you did almost kill me once.” “Well…” “Ashlynn!!” Mia’s voice came screeching out before he small body boomed towards me in way to much force then necessary. “Mia, be careful. You don’t want to hurt her.” Andrew scolded pulling her away from me. I lucked out because Danny had caught me in his arms, so I hadn’t completely fallen back from her impact. “Sorry, I’m just so excited. I hated that idea so much.” “Wow, guys thanks for the support. It would have been a lot easier if you just told me this, before I left.” “You were so sure of yourself though, and I just love the smile you get on your face when your sure of yourself.” Danny cooed down at me, for me to only glare back up. “That’s such an awful lie for you not wanting to argue with me.” “You are feisty to argue with it, not worth my time, really.”
“It could have saved time and I could have made a new plan.” “That’s your problem, you don’t need a plan.” Laurens father said walking into the room. “What do you mean?” “You are strong powerful and unbelievably kind hearted. You know the difference between right and wrong and can win over anyone’s heart in seconds. You don’t have to live with a plan, because you have this talent of having everything you need in order to getting what you want.” “That’s not…” I stopped speaking by the look everyone in the room gave me that told me that it was better to just shut. “So not true.” I mumbled quietly sighing into the food that Danny had put of the bar for me to eat, although I hadn’t made the move to eat it or sit down at the bar. “You keep lying to yourself, Ashlynn and see where that’s gets you.” My father said sipping his coffee trying to hide his smirk as he did so. “It makes me sound so snobbish and full of myself, knowing that things are just going to work out for me. That’s not how it is suppose to be.” “That’s not what he said, Ashlynn. You have a presence about yourself that makes things work out because people can fall for your infectious personality and aura so easily. He never said you expect it, if anything you’re the last person expecting it.” “Whatever.” I mumbled. “Don’t get all grumpy on me, because you know we’re right, sweet pea.” “I’m not being grumpy.” I grumble back completely defeating the purpose of arguing with him about it.
“Look, you didn’t run away again. Here I am thinking I was going to win that bet.” The nasty voice of Danny’s Grandfather seeped through me veins in seconds and had my wolf itching to escape. She hadn’t his mere presence near us and our pup. The fact that he even had the nerve to talk to us like he was better then us sent her ballistic. “And you actually thought it would be a good idea to talk to me like that, when we are both well aware that I could kill you in less then a second. I guess we both do stupid thing every once in a while.” His sickly brown eyes grew wide with shock and just a hint of fear, as my wolf took over and threaten him. It was true, I was more then capable of defeating him, without hurting myself or my pup, it was just the fact that it was morally wrong that prevented me from committing such crime. “Are you threatening the king?” He asked once he controlled his surprise. Due to the fact I wasn’t in control, but y wolf was I smirked. “It’s not exactly a threat, it’s more of a promise.” With that I walked out of the room letting my wolf take over again.
‘Ashlynn be careful’ A sweet delicate voice whispered in the back of my head. It was the moon goddess, sense the time I had seen her when I passed out, she was always whispering something to me. ‘Why?’ ‘Child, you need to stay safe. You have the strength to beat this, but not that way and you know it. Stay pure.’ Bitterly I whispered back something that I hadn’t realized how true it really was. ‘Nothing, can stay pure. Everything will always be tainted, just a little.’
