This chapter is way longer, for whatever reason.
Ahrix knocked on K-391's door. "Come in." K-391 called back. Ahrix opened the door. K-391 was lying on his side facing the wall. He didn't look at Ahrix as Ahrix came in and sat down next to him.
"You ok?" Ahrix asked.
K-391 sighed. "Maybe? Possibly? I will be, eventually. Hopefully." K-391 sat up. He pressed a button on his headphones, pausing his music.
"Need a hug?" Ahrix asked.
"Yes please." K-391 replies, not hesitating to embrace Ahrix.
"Alan showing his true colors hurt you that much?" Ahrix asked.
"Not exactly." K-391 said, letting go of Ahrix. "It just doesn't make sense. Something about this situation just feels wrong."
"Like what?" Ahrix asked.
"It's just... Arg!" K-391 got up and started pacing. "If he was planning to lure us into a trap, why was he so horrible all the time? If he was trying to get us to trust him, He kinda did the opposite! We were monitoring him the whole frigging time, how could he have known for sure his plan was gonna work? How did he know he could get us into the ship, if he was the opposite of trustworthy the whole time? Where was the ship even gonna take us? We were already at the fortress! And I tracked the motion paths, the ship appeared to be just taking us back to Arcadia!"
"K, don't you think that maybe..." Ahrix started.
"-That I'm imagining things because I don't want to believe bad things about Alan?" K-391 finished. "Because I am prepared to believe bad stuff about Alan. I have known there was something up with Alan Walker ever since I first laid eyes on him. And if it wasn't for all these insignificant little things that I've been noticing, the first thing I would do would be to believe bad stuff about Al-"
K-391 never finished that sentence.K-391's vision fogged. He felt transported somewhere else the same way he had when he and Alan Walker had got a vision of Ahrix. It was different this time, though. Instead of a vision of one event, it seemed to be sharing memories of several events.
"Come on, Come on! We have to get out of here!" K-391 heard Alan Walker's voice ring out. He heard the slide of doors opening and the creak of bared gates opening, but he could see anything clearly. K-391 heard running, a lot of running.
Then, he saw a figure up ahead. They were dressed in all black, but that was all K-391 could tell. As he got closer, K-391 gasped. They had a knife to a kid's neck. The running stopped.
"You know I'll do it," The figure said. For a second K-391 swore they were talking to him. Then he realized this was a memory, he turned around, and realized they were talking to Alan Walker. The scene changed again, it was on the bridge of an airship. Alan Walker was slumped in a chair, not moving.
"You almost got away with it," The same person said. K-391 jumped. They had appeared behind him. "You could have gotten away when you had the chance, you could have left with your friends." They approached Alan Walker. "But you had to be a hero."
Alan Walker did not move. "Please. I know you just want me. Let the others go."
The figure laughed. "That could be in order. How about you take me to where your little friends are hiding? Then maybe I'll consider letting the others go."
"You're making it sound like I have a choice. How do I know you will stay true to your word?" Alan Walker said, still not moving.
"Oh, you're one to talk," The figure laughed again.
"Fine." Alan Walker said. "I'll take you to them."
The vision changed. Alan Walker was putting in the coordinates for Arcadia into the navigation system. Then he took a USB stick out of his pocket and plugged it in, running the encrypted code. The code made sure that after the ship had reached Arcadia, It would delete the coordinates from the computer. The Airship would never know it had been to Arcadia.
"They're coming to Arcadia. You have to warn the others." Alan Walker's voice said. The vision started to fade.
K-391 did not want to lose the connection. "What does this mean?! Are you on our side or not!!"
But no response came. As the connection started to fail, K-391 heard the same chorus that he had sung upon making this link:
"When days are dark
And stars don't line
We're always and forever 'til the end, the end of time"K-391 lay flat on his back staring at the ceiling. Ahrix too. K-391 in the back of his mind reasoned that Ahrix must have had the same vision, but he didn't have the brainpower to process it right now. He felt a crazy amount of emotions.
He felt angry, because Alan was always giving vague messages, and had never made his intentions clear.
He felt hope, because if the vision was true, Alan hadn't betrayed them, he had sent them to safety before rescuing everyone else!
He also felt fear of disappointment, because he didn't want to find out that he had been tricked once again.
He felt tired of getting his hopes up and having them smashed. Tired of guessing and chasing and screaming and crying.
He also felt proud of himself for coming up with this communication system.
And all these emotions were all rooted in confusion. He didn;'t know Alan's intentions, and this vision had made them as confusing as ever.
He was also a little bit hungry, and totally wanted a donut."Should I even ask what the F flat just happened?" Ahrix asked.
"Artist stuff," K-391 said.
"That's what I figured," Ahrix said.
K-391 sighed, but smiled, thinking of all the stuff that had happened and that he had to catch Ahrix up on."It's a very long st-"
An alarm rang out, cutting K-391 off. Ahrix And K-391 looked at each other. They scampered out of the room.
