Wires. So many wires coming from her small body. She's woken up since we got here and right now she's sleeping. Brad told me she had a seizure and then she wasn't responding to him. Natasha took Jill home to my house for the night. Josh is still here with me. Brad and Chris are here too. Right now I'm sat by her bed waiting for her to wake up or for the doctor to come tell me what the hell happened. They already did tests on her and I guess their waiting for the results to come back. It feels like we've been waiting forever. The door opens and Chris's head peaks through.

"The doctor is out with Brad. He needs you."
"I can't leave her." I say, grabbing her hand.
"I'll stay with her."

I look at her little face one more time before getting up.

"Thank you." I say, leaving the room.
I go down the hall and to the waiting room where Josh and Brad is. The doctor smiles faintly at me before he speaks.

"I have a few questions for you before I tell you her results."
"Okay." Brad and I nod.

"Has she been complaining of headaches at anytime in the past couple months?"
"About 3 weeks ago she started complaining about them like every 2 days."

"Did you get it checked?"
"No. It used to happen to me too as a kid. I figured it was the same for her."
"Has she thrown up anytime?"
"Like 5 times this month. Side effect of the headaches I thought."
"Well, we got her results back and we did find something on her brain. Were not sure if it's cancerous or not."

Everything from then on I don't even hear. My little girl cannot have something on her brain. She cannot have a tumour. This is not happening. I zone back in when he begins talking about what happens next.

"We'll do surgery to remove it, examine it to find out what type it is and then we'll decide the course of action from there."

He tells a few more little things about keeping her here and that they can bring a bed in her room for someone to stay with her then he's gone.

"Who's gonna stay with her?" I ask, looking at Brad.

"You." Nice to know that was a hard decision. "Your her mother."
"Your her father."
"And I'll be here to visit when I can."
"You've got to be kidding me."

His phone starts ringing and he excuses himself for a  moment before coming back.
"That was work. They need me. I'll be back tomorrow."

He waves to us and then heads for the elevator. Josh and I head down to her room, neither of us talking. I'm pretty sure he doesn't know what to say to me and if I was him I wouldn't either. We go into the room and Chris stands up.

"Where's Brad?" He asks.

"He got called in."
"Your joking?" He questions. I shake my head no. I fill him in on what the doctor said. He pulls me into a long hug. He's always been there when Brad wasn't. In a way he's like a second dad to the girls.
"I'm gonna stay here for the night with her."
"Well I'll be back tomorrow morning so you can go home for a little bit." He says, grabbing his coat.
"You don't have too."
"You have 2 other kids and yourself you also need to take care of."
"Thank you." I smile. I hug him quickly again before he leaves. What would I do without my friends.

The next morning I wake up before she's awake and Chris sneaks into the room. Josh went home last night. I'm taking Chris's truck to the house this morning since Josh is the one who drove me here last night. I'll never be able to thank him enough for that. I've already sent him a million messages saying thank you. I get to the house and Natasha is in the kitchen doing dishes. Jill must still be sleeping. It is 7 in the morning.

"Did you sleep?" Natasha asks, pulling me into a hug.
"A little bit." I say, laying my purse on the counter. "I'm gonna go shower and stuff then head back over."

I go up to my room and turn the shower on. I sit on the little bench in there and let the water run over me. My husband and I are getting separated, I'm pregnant and now one of my kids is in the hospital. Shitty is not the word for my life anymore.
