Today's the day mom comes in. I have to pick her up from the airport so I picked the girls up early from school. It's a Friday so I don't really mind. Julie and George leave today. After supper when Chris gets home so he can drive them to the airport. Mom gets in the van and I lean over and hug her. I can't believe she's actually here. She finally gets to see the work we did on the house.

When I get to the house mom goes to the room to sleep and I put the kids down for a nap. Chris is out back painting the patio and the dog is out there with him I think. I'm in the kitchen making some lemonade when he comes inside. He has a serious look on his face.
"Everything okay?" I ask, looking at him.
"How'd you like to go on a trip?" He asks, sitting at the island.
"A trip?" I ask.
"Yeah. I know a guy and his girlfriend who are going to Florida for 4 days and they asked us to go."
"What about the kids?"
"My mom can watch them when your mom goes back." He stands up. "Whadda ya say?"
"Let's go." I smile, kissing his cheek.
