*A Month Later*
I got a huge raise, the babies are 5 months old and my relationship is going strong. Chris is at his place because he has some girl coming over to look at a room. I don't agree with the girl thing but if it gets the room gone and brings him in money then I'll have to be okay with it. Today I'm having a regular day. Cleaning, cooking, maybe even some baking.
It's 2 now and I've just finished my cleaning so I think I'm gonna do some baking. I go to the kitchen and get the ingredients needed for making the cookies. Chocolate chip is the girls' favorite. The babies are in their bouncers on the other side of the island and I have the tv on for them. The Wiggles of course. Kacey and Jill are sat at the island, helping me with the cookies. Their using the cookie cutters to make them into shapes.
I'm about finished getting them ready when someone knocks on the door. I go answer it since I'm the only one here able too. It's Chris; with a crying little boy. I stare at them, wondering who the hell this kid is and why Chris has him here. Why Chris has him at all.
"I need help." Chris says, stepping inside. The little boy is kicking and crying loudly.
"Lay him on the ground and go sit down." I tell Chris. He does as I say and sits at the dining room table. I bend down in front of the kid and he backs away from me, still crying. Thankfully the door behind him is shut or he would have made a run for it.
"Where mommy?" He asks through his tears.
"I'm Meghan." I say, smiling. "I just made some cookies. I'm sure your mom would love some when she gets here."He hesitates for a moment before coming towards me, taking my out stretched hand. His crying has stopped a little as we walk towards the kitchen.
While the cookies are in the oven I sit down with Chris at the table. The little boy is in the playroom watching a movie peacefully. Chris is drinking a coffee I made for him.
"So who is this kid?" I ask, motioning to the living room.
"The girl who was supposed to look at the room. She just left him on my step with a note saying that he's my kid and his names is Levi and he's 3 years old."
"He's yours?" I ask, shaking my mug around a little. "Do you remember her?"
"From a couple years ago yeah. She was really hot and in the bar alone. I thought I used protection."
"Not if you were too drunk to remember." I scoff.
"I came here for your help. Not your judgement." He says, shooting me a look."I'm not judging." I say, grabbing his hand. "What are you gonna do? How do you know he's for sure yours?"
"I don't. I called into the hospital and they're gonna make sure he's actually mine."
"And if he isn't?" I ask, looking up at him.
"Then... I hate to say it but I'll give him to someone who can give him a good life."
"And if he's yours?" I ask, raising my eye brows as I wait for his answer."I have no idea." He sighs.

Levi hasn't come out of the playroom all day and Chris hasn't went in there. Their both complete strangers to each other. I go in periodically to check on him. The girls came in a while ago from down the street with some friends and the babies are napping so everything is pretty quiet here. The girls somehow managed to get Levi to go outside and play.
I go over to the couch and sit next to Chris. He places a hand on my leg and squeezes slightly, leaving his hand there.
"He's sweet." I say, glancing out the window. "Looks like you."
"I just need to figure out if he's mine or not so I can know what to do." He says, avoiding my stare.
* * * *The next morning we continue on as usual. The girls get up and I drive them to school while Chris stays home with the babies and Levi. It's so weird to have a 5th child to look out for. It's only been a day I know but I already adjusted to life with him. After dropping the girls off I head to the grocery store to pick up some things. While I'm in there I see Brad with Macy's daughter walking around the store. She's laughing and he is too. They look happy. He looks okay. I avoid all contact with him and go right to the check out. Thankfully I'm out before I see him again.
I get back to the house and go inside. I don't see or hear anything until I go into the living room. I can hear voices coming from the babies room upstairs. I silently go up and stand in the doorway. Chris is in there and Levi is stood on a chair looking into both cribs. Chris is making Briella laugh while Levi does the same thing Chris does, making Kyson laugh. I can't help but laugh too. I walk inside and go up to Chris. I wrap an arm around his waist and kiss his shoulder.
"Your doing good already." I smile, turning around and walking out.* * * *
~Chris's POV~Having Levi come into my life yesterday has already changed me. It's made me realize I think I'm ready for kids. Kids of my own. Meghan's been awesome too. She's completely taken a liking to him.
I'm in the living room while she puts all the kids to bed watching tv. When she comes down, shes sits next to me and lays her head on my shoulder."I got a call today." I say, muting the tv and turning towards her.
"From?" She asks, putting her phone down on the coffee table.
"I had someone looking more into Levi and his background."
"And?" She asks.
"I am the father. He is mine." I say, running a hand through my hair. I have a child. My own flesh and blood.
