Next Day:

The next day came slowly for Kook.

The sky was grey. Clouds were heavy.
As if the weather already knew what was going to happen.

Kook didn’t go to Tae, even after Yoongi told him to.

He couldn’t.
Not yet.
Maybe… he needed a plan. Something to say to her. Something to say to Mr. Jeon.

He needed to be fully ready before speaking to Tae.

Because he still didn’t know if she even wanted him to.

And the last thing he wanted to do was cause her more pain.

So instead, he went to the hospital at 10 a.m., even when Mrs. Jeon told him to stay home.

But he wanted to be out, to think about anything that wasn’t her.

Dark circles under his eyes. A slight headache from the alcohol.

Even when his heart wasn’t in it.

Tae, on the other hand, had a quiet morning.
Her bandage was bothering her, but she didn’t want to call anyone or bother anyone.

So she booked a cab and went to the hospital herself.

She hadn’t planned to see him.
She just needed someone to change her dress.

But life has its own way.

At the hospital:

Lina was at the counter when Tae walked in.

Lina: “Oh… Tae-ssi, hi!”
She stood up, surprised.

Tae smiled softly, holding her arm, realizing she hadn’t made an appointment beforehand.

Tae: “Can I get my wound checked? The dressing feels loose.”
She said gently.

Lina: “Of course. Come with me.”

Lina led her through the hallway but paused near one of the rooms.
And for some reason, Tae felt like she had been here before.

Lina: “Uhm… there’s only one doctor available right now. Will it be okay if Dr. Jeon does it?”

Tae froze for a second.

Her throat felt dry.

She wanted to say no.

But her heart whispered something else.

She nodded.

Lina stepped into the room and told Kook.

He stood up immediately.

Kook: “She’s here?”
His voice was quiet but urgent.

Lina nodded and went out to bring Tae in.

And seconds later, she walked in.

They both stood still for a moment.
Everything went silent.
Only their eyes spoke.

He looked tired.
Pale.
Exhausted.

Tae noticed it right away, the dark circles, the way his shoulders were slightly slumped.
As if the world was weighing on them.

Tae: “Can we get this done fast?”
She said softly. Not cold. Just quiet.

Kook: “Yeah… of course.”

He gestured to the bed. She sat down, holding her arm out.

He moved carefully, pulling on gloves and grabbing the dressing kit.
