The next few days Tae spent at Jimin's.
She did not go to the Company.
Tae hadn’t left her room much (At Jimin's).
Just to shower. Eat something small. She barely spoke, except when Jimin would sit beside her and talk about random things, weather, silly wedding moments, new recipes.
And that quiet, that stillness...
It wasn’t numb anymore.
It was healing.Jimin came in that evening, holding a bowl of cut fruits.
Jimin: "Kook knows."
Tae looked up, blinking.
Tae: "You told him?"
Jimin: "Yoongi did. I couldn’t bring myself to. But Kook… he needed to know you fought for him."
Tae didn’t answer. But the sting behind her eyes said everything.
Jungkook’s Apartment:
Yoongi’s words were still echoing in his head.
Yoongi: “She went to her father.
She screamed at him, broke things, and cried her lungs out.
And still… she didn’t ask for you back.
She just wanted to be heard, Kook.”Jungkook sat alone now.
On the small shelf in the corner, one he hadn’t touched in months, sat a photo frame.
A photo of Tae and her mom.
It was clicked when Tae was so small. He picked up the frame, thumb brushing over the glass.
Jungkook: “She’s your daughter… how could he do that to her? And how could I do that to her?”
He whispers softly in a broken tone.He sank to the floor, frame still in hand, leaning his head back against the wall.
And for the first time in a long time…
He wondered if all this status, all this legacy Mr Kim wanted to protect if it was worth the way Tae’s laughter had disappeared.
Mr.Kim Home:
The house was too quiet.
His assistant had told him Tae hadn’t come home in days. That she was staying at Min Yoongi’s. That she hadn’t touched work either.
On the table beside his, was the same picture which Kook had.
His wife and his daughter when she was so little.
He stared at it for a long time.
Tae’s words haunted him.
Tae: “You chose power over my peace. You don’t get to call it love.”
For the first time, her father looked small.
Not weak.
Just… human.And regret?
It finally sat beside him.A week later:
Tae was just coming down to return Jimin’s extra house keys.
She stepped out of the elevator. And froze.
He was there.
Leaning against the wall near the mailboxes.
A hoodie on, hands in his pockets, head down. She almost turned back.
But something in her… was just too tired to run again.
He looked up the moment he felt her.
Like he’d been waiting for that exact shift in the air.Their eyes met.
God, they were both so tired.
Tae: “What are you doing here?”
Her voice was quiet. She didn’t sound mad.
