Chapter Twenty Nine

"Come pick me up at the parking lot!" I hissed.

I don't feel good about this. I felt like something bad was going to happen. I even feel strange and stupid na naiwan ko pa itong phone ko ng aksidente sa meeting room ng mga board members ng minsang may kinuha ako rito few days ago a day before we went to Estera.

Tinaon kong may pinuntahan si Elijah sa kompanya nila ng oras na iyon para hindi siya makita.

I don't know if I misplaced it unintentionally or if someone took it at pinalabas lang na naiwan ko.

I called my trusted lawyer right away.

" Make sure to secure my will, Attorney, if something happens including my advance directives." Napalunok ako. " Please keep my will at ilabas mo lang iyan sa tamang panahon." I reiterated firmly.

I sensed his hard exhale on the other line. "I understand Nica."

I kept on calling Dad's phone but it seemed out of coverage or turned off.

Where the hell is he?

I'm also beginning to feel that shortness of breath whenever I palpitate this much. Pero sinubukan kong kumalma.

Employees were horrified to see me and greeted me with apprehension pero pinanatili ko ang matigas na mukha. I don't care if they were always scared. Wala na akong tiwala sa mga tao rito sa kompanya.

I waited when the hallway was cleared at bumaba ako sa fire exit.

I was breathless pero ayaw kong bumaba sa elevator dahil makakasalubong ko ang mga tauhan ni Daddy or ni Elijah na nagbabantay sa'kin.

Hiningal na binunot ko ang cellphone ko ng makababa.

" Where are you?I'm about to go out sa fire exit!"

" Nandito na po, Ma'am."

Nagmamadali kong muling binaybay ang hagdan pababa at lumabas kaagad.

It was going dark already. Perhaps Elijah went to their company office, o naghintay sa mismong opisina niya-- hindi ko na inalam. But one thing's for sure, he's probably wondering at malamang papunta na sa office para I check ako.

May sasakyang tumigil sa harap. Sumakay agad ako roon.

But it was too late when I realized that the atmosphere was a little off.

Something is strange.

Tumakbo na iyon ng mabilis nang inakma ko nang bubuksan.

"Who are you?! Anong ginawa niyo sa tauhan ko?!" I hissed nang mapansin ring may tao sa passenger seat.

I was trying to calm myself.

" Napag utusan lang kami. May gustong kumausap at magpadala ng minsahe sa inyo." Sabi ng driver. The other one has a gun on his hand pero kalmado lang iyong hawak.

" Anong kailangan niyo?" I was hoping by now na na email na nila ang mga ebidensiya kay daddy tungkol sa impostorang ito.

I know she was behind this.

" Titigil tayo sa tagong lugar para gawin ang negosasyon, Ma'am."

" If you want me killed you could just kill me now. Hindi ako natatakot sa pwede niyong gawin sa'kin!"

Honestly, hindi ako takot mamatay but I just wish this impostor wouldn't get something from me bago iyon mangyari.

Kung saan saan kami pumasok at lumiko until he parked inside an unfinished newly constructed building. It seems like the construction was halted.
