HER GOOD MOOD WAS NOT FATED TO LAST. Raina's house was a mess. The walls had holes in them, the furniture was flipped over and in shambles. And it was all her doing. Klaus's hybrids tried to clean up after her but Raina found herself unable to care. She wished she could turn back time. She wished she could go back to last night and admonish Klaus, stop him from ever releasing Stefan from his control.
She'd known all along that it was not a good idea and yet she'd allowed it anyway. She allowed Mikael's death to make her complacent, let her guard down and she had paid dearly for it. Raina prided herself on better control over herself than Klaus but she always did have her weaknesses. Her siblings were one of them. Rational thought went flying out the window when they were put in harm's way.
She was self aware enough to know that. Perhaps that was why, when Klaus trapped her inside her own house using the ring, she didn't fight against it. Loosing her temper meant loosing a sibling. Unfortunately, the furniture was not spared from her wrath.
Klaus was spared from being collateral damage by managing to retrieve Rebekah from Elena Gilbert. Raina hovered over his sister's dessicated corpse, a fresh wave of anger washing over her. Just as her hands began to tug the hilt of the dager to release Rebekah, Klaus put the dagger back in. Raina gave him an incredulous look, indignation rising up. Before she could speak, Klaus did "She knows what we did to our mother"
Raina paused, faltering. If Rebekah knew... they could not count on their little sister to be an ally in this struggle. Between the anger she undoubtedly felt at the hybrids and her love for Stefan... Raina loathed to admit but Rebekah was a liability and a dangerously spontaneous variable. She removed her hands from the dagger, closing the lid of the coffin "Sleep well, Bekah" she murmured. Klaus turned to one of his hybrids- Mindy "Show her to her room, would you, love?"
"Sure" Mindy wheeled the coffin away. Raina heard him before she saw him. It took all her restraint to not dash over and snap his neck when she realised who it was. "I'm surprised you're still in town. I gave you your freedom, you could have gone anywhere" Klaus poured himself a drink. "I live here, Klaus" Stefan leaned against the doorframe.
"Well, if we're playing this game, then... we were here first" Klaus replied. "You know, I don't like your hybrid friends. They're everywhere, kind of like fleas. I want them gone" Stefan pushed off the doorframe and approached them. "Feeling bold are we, Salvatore?" Raina took a few steps towards him as well.
"Yeah, well I kind of like having them around. You know, I'm hurt. I hoped that when I freed you, we'd pick up where we left off. But here you are, guzzling vervain like the rest of them, I'm sure. So much for friendship" Klaus raised a glass to Stefan sarcastically. Raina muttered under her breath about the ridiculousness of the statement.
