Kate - Riding The Wave

You sat in your apartment on the ground, your back against the wall as you stared at you phone.

'Whenever this happens again, just call me,' her voice rang throughout your head.

You groaned and dialed Kate's number, your hand trembling as you held the phone to your ear.

'Y/N? It's 2am, Either you're drunk off five dollar wine again or something is up,' she said. You chuckled a little.

'Just wondering if you could come over, maybe we could like watch a movie or something,' you said.

She paused for a moment, she could tell by your tone of voice that you needed her.

'I'll be there in 20 with pizza.'

When Kate eventually arrived you let her in to find her with a stack of pizzas. You smiled softly and let her inside.

While you sat on the couch eating pizza and watching trashy TV she turned to you.

'So, you wanna tell me what's going on, or rather just drown in pizza with me?' she asked. You chuckled softly and glanced at her.

'You know...just the usual,' you muttered.

She sighed and paused the TV to look at you.

'The usual? Y/N, that could mean a lot of things to you.'

'I've just been feeling a bit down in the dumps. I don't want it to end or anything like that I'm just...I'm finding it hard to find meaning, is all,' you said. She looked at you and nodded softly.

'You're still on your medication?' she asked as you nodded.

'Yeah... I've just been riding the wave, you know. Tonight I didn't feel like being alone,' you said. She smiled and shuffled closer.

'Listen, pizza and trashy TV with you is my perfect idea for a night,' she said. You smiled softly as she pulled you into her side.

'You're riding the wave but you don't have to do it alone, I'll be here to ride it with you...like a wave pool,' she said. You chuckled and rolled your eyes.

'You're so damn cheesy,' you said. She smiled as you leant against her and focused on the TV again.

'But, thank you.'
