Bucky had only recently joined the team, everything was going pretty smoothly but there was one mystery he hadn't solved.
'Hey, Steve,' he said, stopping their card game before continuing, 'there's a room down the hall from me with a fingerprint lock on it, I always hear noises coming from there. What is that room?'
Steve paused for a moment and debated whether to tell his best friend the truth or not.
'That's Y/N's room...' he said.
Bucky looked at him in confusion.
'Who's Y/N?'
'Well, technically she's Tony's daughter,' Steve said, not looking up at Bucky, 'but, biologically she's Alexander Pierce's daughter.'
Bucky stared at Steve in shock. Firstly he had never known Pierce had a kid, and secondly he never knew Tony had an adopted daughter he kept locked away.
'You're not pulling my leg?'
'No, Tony wanted to wait to tell you. He was worried,' Steve said.
'I mean, I'm surprised. But, why does she never come out of that room?' Bucky asked.
'She's unstable and unpredictable, she's injured herself and a lot of other people in the past. Tony is just trying to keep herself and everyone else safe.'
'How old is she?' Bucky asked.
'She's seventeen,' he said. Bucky nodded and looked down in thought for a moment.
'So, a teenager is forced to just be locked away in a tower like...I don't know, but it could make a good movie,' Bucky mumbled. Losing track of the conversation for a moment.
'I know it doesn't seem fair, she's a good kid. But, she has issues. She's similar to you, she had another side to her, one she can't control.'
Bucky looked at Steve and nodded a little.
'It must be hard, I mean she's a kid still. When did Tony adopt her?'
'It's been five years now.'
Bucky nodded and sighed a little.
'I'm shocked that Tony had a kid this whole time and that she's...Alexander's daughter. But, we share a kitchen with a literal God so it's not that far fetched.'
Steve chuckled softly.
'Just don't worry about it, okay? Tony has it handled,' Steve said. Bucky sighed and nodded.
The next day the rest of the avengers were on a mission. Curiosity got the better of Bucky and he stood outside your room, his hand up, deciding whether or not to knock.
He slowly knocked at the door.
'Um, Y/N?'
Suddenly he heard something hit the door.
'Hello! I don't know your voice, who are you?' you called out. Bucky was shocked you were even speaking to him.
'I'm Bucky, I'm pretty new here,' he said. There was silence for a moment before you spoke again.
'I've never heard about you,' you said. He chuckled softly.
'I could say the same about you, must get pretty boring in there, huh?'
'Kind of, but dad gives me a lot of stuff to do,' you said. Bucky hated the thought of a teenager being locked away like this.
'You ever played naughts and crosses?'
For about an hour you and Bucky had passed a piece of paper back and forth playing various games.
Bucky knew the team had come back and sighed.
