A few hours ago, shortly after Natasha and Steve disappeared upstairs. Sara was still trying to take her brother James's toy, and he was trying to protect it from her.

J: Stop! It's mine! Stop, Sara!

James complained as Sara gripped the toy tighter, trying to pull it toward herself.

J: Stop! Maria! Help!!

James yanked the toy, causing Sara to fly in the direction he pulled it. It didn't hurt her, but it startled both Sara and Maria Hill.

H: James!!!

Hill grabbed Sara and set her back on the couch. Sara immediately started crying.

James looked at Maria and then at Sara.

Sara: Mommy!!

Sara called for Natasha and put her hand on her belly as if protecting it.

J: Did it Hurt?

H: She probably did get hurt. You were way too rough with her. She's little, James. You can't pull her like that; it hurts.

James got a bit concerned about Sara and he feared that he might have hurt his lil sister, but he didn't know how to react properly to that. The only thing he knew was that when he got hurt, his dad would hug him to make him feel better. So his response to seeing Sara upset was to hug his toy protectively.

J: Awwn!

Hill frowned at James.

H: It's not your toy that needs a hug, James. Sara is the one crying.

James looked back at Hill, then at Sara again. He stared her for a long time, thinking about what he could do to help Sara feel better...

While James was thinking about what to do, Maria Hill, who also didn't know what to do, stood up and went near the stairs to call Natasha to deal with her kids.

Hill called Natasha three times but got no response. Meanwhile, James remembered the reason for the fight between him and Sara: his new toy.

J: Here!

James handed the toy to Sara.

J: Sara, take it.

James put the toy in Sara's lap, but now she was more interested in crying, and James didn't know what to do with that. He just wanted her to stop, so he put his hand over her mouth—and she cried even harder.

H: James!!!

James stepped away from Sara and stayed quiet as Hill approached again. He didn't want to make her cry more.

H: You can't do that.

Sara eventually noticed the toy and started calming down. She began playing with James's toy, still whining and crying every now and then.

H: I'm going to kill your mother, James. She does not answer me!

Hill sat back on the couch while Sara quietly played with the board, and James just watched until he thought it was fair to take it back for a bit.

James got close to Sara and reached out to grab it, but Sara noticed and quickly crawled across the couch toward Maria Hill, climbing onto her to keep James from taking it back.

J: I want to use it now. It's mine.

H: He's right, Sara. He let you use it; now it's James's turn.

Hill explained to Sara, and only then did Sara seem to notice the lap she'd climbed wasn't her mom's, nor Oliver's, nor her dad Steve's. She looked at Hill, very serious and confused. Hill returned the same look, and after a strange silence, Sara started crying again—louder this time—because she didn't know who Hill was.
