Chapter 48

The doorbell at Maria Hill's apartment rang and she went to the door to answer it, she believed it was Steve Rogers or the delivery guy of some purchase she made and didn't remember anymore, but for her surprise it wasn't either Steve or delivery guy, it was some of her subordinates from SHIELD. By the way, some of her former subordinates, since she was fired from there.

Hill: Simmons! Fitz!

Hill frowned slightly when she saw SHIELD agentes: Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz. Besides the Young duo, there were also SHIELD agents that she didn't recognize, doing some kind of escort for them but they were positioned further away, so Hill considered that they are there to ensure the integrity of Jemma and Fitz and also to watch over whateve they have come to do in her apartment.

Hill: What...

Jemma Simmons: Hello, Miss Hill.

Jemma interrupted Hill.

Hill: Why do you...

Jemma: We're here at the behest of SHIELD to make sure you're home.

Jemma interrupted Maria Hill again and was smiling awkwardly.

Hill: But of course I'm home.

Hill frowned further.

Jemma: There have been reports that you left the building without permission and we need to check that you are actually at home and wearing the electronic anklet.

Leo Fitz: That means we need to take a picture of you.

Hill rolled her eyes and shrugged, indicating that it was a "whatever" for her and that she wouldn't object to that. Fitz took out his cell phone and took a picture, he scratched his head.

Fitz: This doesn't look good.

Jemma: Why not?

Fitz: It's not good, she's too close to the door.

Jemma looked at the photo.

Jemma: Yeah... it's really close... can you back away from the door, please?

Hill took a deep and impatient breath and took a few steps back.

Jemma: That's good enough!

Fitz entered the apartment and took the picture. Jemma entered but remained planted in the doorway, as if she wanted to block the view of the other agents but they were still watching.

Hill: Be quick.

Hill pointed the way to Fitz.

Hill: And be clean!

Hill pointed out after Fitz walked towards the bathroom, then she looked at Jemma.

Hill: How are things at SHIELD?

Jemma: Everything is almost normal. It's strange not having you there. The boss is much more stressed now.

Hill: Really? Tha tis great! He deserves for kicking me out of SHIELD.

Jemma was quiet and it wasn't long before there was the sound of something breaking in the bathroom. Hill and Jemma frowned.
