Author's POV
Scene: After Midnight — Everyone Asleep but Them
The movie had long ended. The projector screen went dark. The sound of occasional snoring and rustling blankets filled the room.
Yoongi had fully claimed the recliner, arms crossed, head tilted back.
Jimin was curled like a cat on the rug, clutching a cushion to his chest.
Hoseok was half-asleep against Namjoon, who mumbled something about philosophy even in sleep.
Jin had given up on neatness and was face-down on the armrest of the couch.
And somehow, amidst it all — the soft hush of night — two pairs remained awake.
>> Jungkook & Hayoung
They were still on the couch, now under a blanket that had slipped low, warm over their legs.
Hayoung shifted slightly, thinking Jungkook had fallen asleep, but the moment her shoulder brushed his chest, his arm instinctively came around her.
"Still awake?" he murmured, voice rough with sleep but careful.
"Didn't want to move," she whispered back.
"You're... comfortable."
He smiled faintly, breath brushing her hair. A beat of silence passed. Then another.
And then—quietly—
"I wasn't sure if I should've kissed you again."
Her heart stilled.
She looked up at him, eyes meeting in the dim light from the kitchen hallway.
"Why didn't you?"
He blinked slowly. Then whispered—
"Because if I had... I might not have stopped this time."
Hayoung didn't look away.
Didn't smile.
Didn't blush.
She just... felt it.
Then, soft as a feather:
"Maybe you shouldn't have stopped."
Their fingers tangled beneath the blanket. Nothing more. But everything had changed.
>>Taehyung & Nayoung
Taehyung lay stretched across the other end of the couch, one hand tucked under his cheek, the other resting gently near Nayoung's wrist.
She had been watching the ceiling. Listening to the quiet breathing around them. And thinking far too much.
"Couldn't sleep?" he whispered, his voice almost melting into the dark.
"My head won't shut up," she replied.
He rolled onto his side, now facing her.
"What's it saying?"
She hesitated, then met his gaze.
"That I shouldn't be this attached this fast. That I should be careful."
A slow exhale.
Taehyung reached out — not to grab her hand, but to let his fingers rest beside hers.
"What if I told you... I'm feeling the same, Nayoung-ah?"
"That I've never done this either — whatever this is — but it's real. And I'm not scared."
Her eyes softened.
"I'm scared."
"Then I'll hold both our fears, if you'll just... stay."
And in that moment, she did.
Her fingers slid into his. And they stayed that way. Not lovers, not strangers — just two hearts wide open in a quiet room, surrounded by the soft proof of friendship... and the very beginning of something deeper.
