Author's POV

The night that once smelled of fear now feels lighter, as though someone finally opened the window after a long storm. Hayoung and Jungkook's car rushes through the quiet streets, city lights painting their faces in silver flashes. The phone screen glows with Taehyung's message — "She's awake. She's asking for her sister."

For the first time in hours, Hayoung allows herself to exhale. The sound that escapes her is half-laugh, half-sob. Jungkook's hand stays on the wheel, but his thumb brushes her fingers gently. "We're almost there," he murmurs, and she nods silently, her heart already running ahead of them, into that white hospital room where her best friend is waiting.

Hayoung's POV

When I push open the door, the world still feels blurry from all the crying. Nayoung's eyes — half-lidded, sleepy — lift toward me.

"Ya... where were you..." she mumbles weakly.
That's it. I break. I run straight to her bedside, the words tumbling from my lips. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, Nayoung-ah..."

Her hand finds mine — warm, bandaged, still strong. "Shut up," she whispers, her voice hoarse. "You saved me, idiot."

I laugh through my tears, pressing her hand to my face. I can't even reply. The air smells like antiseptic and hope, and for once, both don't hurt.

From behind me, Taehyung's voice trembles — "Thank god..." — and I hear the sound of him quietly wiping his face. Jungkook stands beside him, his arm loosely slung around his shoulder, steadying him. For a long time, none of us speak. We just breathe in the silence of survival.

Taehyung's POV

When I saw her eyelids flutter, something inside me cracked open.
I thought I had lost her.
I thought I'd never hear that sarcastic voice again, never see those eyes roll at my bad jokes. But here she is, fragile yet alive. My hands shake when I brush the hair from her forehead.

"Don't scare me like that again," I whisper, but my voice breaks halfway.

She smiles weakly, and that smile — that tiny, stubborn curve — is enough to glue my soul back together.

Behind me, I hear Jungkook saying something to Hayoung — soft, comforting words. The sound is a balm. We all went through fire and came out breathing. That's all that matters tonight.

Jungkook's POV

I've seen too many stages, too many lights. But this — this small hospital room with the four of us together again — feels like the brightest place on earth.

Hayoung leans against me, exhausted but safe. I don't say much, just wrap my arm around her shoulder. I can still hear Rohan's voice echoing in my head — that desperate, cruel tone — but I push it away. He's gone. The law has him now. The nightmare's over.

When I look at Hayoung's face, pale and tear-stained, I realize something quietly powerful: she's the bravest person I've ever met.

Author's POV

The next few days passed like a gentle sunrise — slow, warm, inevitable.

The case went to court almost immediately. Jungkook's recording and the hitman's eventual confession sealed Rohan's fate. The media stormed with headlines — "Top Fashion Company CEO got Arrested for Attempted Murder." His power couldn't save him now. Justice was quiet, but it was sure.

Rohan Sharma was sentenced to a long imprisonment.
And the world — for once — felt balanced again.

Nayoung's recovery was steady. Her head wound healed faster than anyone expected. Hayoung and Jungkook never left her side; Taehyung barely slept for days, staying in that chair beside her bed. They laughed again, slowly at first — laughter that sounded cracked but real. The kind that comes after everything's been broken and rebuilt.
