Author's POV
Evening slipped in softly over Taehyung's house, bringing with it the smell of comfort and the sound of laughter.
The emotional heaviness of the past week had finally started to fade, replaced by a gentler, warmer atmosphere.
"Alright, ladies," Jin announced grandly, clapping his hands together as if commanding a cooking show. "You two are not allowed to move, especially you Nayoung. We'll handle dinner."
Nayoung blinked in surprise, wrapped in her soft blanket on the couch. "What? But—"
"No buts!" Jungkook cut her off, pointing at her like a strict teacher. "Doctor's orders. You rest."
"And you," Jimin added, turning to Hayoung with mock seriousness, "are assigned as her caretaker. If she moves from this couch, report immediately."
Taehyung nodded solemnly. "You're on watch duty."
Hayoung crossed her arms, pretending to be all serious. "Yes, sir."
But the tiny smile playing on her lips gave her away.
Soon, the boys headed to the kitchen, sleeves rolled up, arguing about recipes. The clattering of pots and the occasional hiss of oil filled the air. The girls glanced at each other — the temptation too strong to ignore.
Hayoung's POV
I tried, I really tried to stay on that couch.
But when I heard Namjoon's voice from the kitchen say, "Wait... was I supposed to add sugar or salt?" — I knew we were in trouble.
I turned to Nayoung.
She was already giving me that mischievous smirk — the same one she had since childhood whenever she was about to break rules.
"You heard that?" she whispered.
"Oh, I definitely did," I whispered back.
We both glanced toward the kitchen door, then at each other — and without another word, we tiptoed down the hallway like two sneaky detectives.
Nayoung's POV
The sight that greeted us was priceless.
Jin was clearly in charge, holding a spatula like it was a weapon of authority.
Jungkook was flipping something in the pan with total concentration, his sleeves rolled high.
Taehyung was humming a tune while chopping vegetables, smiling to himself, Yoongi with his coffee was busy pretending to 'supervise' with half-lidded eyes, and Hoseok was hyping everyone up like they were filming a cooking show.— and Jimin was beside him, pretending to help but mostly just sneaking bites of ingredients.
And then there was Namjoon.
The poor man was standing in front of the rice cooker, looking utterly betrayed by it.
"Why is this not working?" he muttered under his breath. "I followed the instructions exactly."
Jin groaned. "Because you forgot to plug it in, genius!"
Hayoung covered her mouth to keep from laughing. I bit my lip, trying not to make a sound.
"Ya, this is so unfair," Namjoon complained. "Technology hates me."
"No," Jungkook said with a smirk, "kitchens hate you, hyung."
That did it. Hayoung snorted, trying to hide behind the door — but Jin turned around instantly.
"Yah! What are you two doing here?!" he barked, eyes wide.
