Hayoung's breathing hitched faintly as the bed dipped under Rohan's weight. She could still barely keep her eyes open, her head heavy, her vision swimming in and out of focus. The warmth of the blanket beneath her contrasted sharply with the faint chill in the room, making her want to curl in on herself.
"Relax," that familiar-yet-unfamiliar voice murmured near her ear.
She tried to focus on the sound. It was low and careful — almost matching Jungkook's — but something about it didn't fit. The pauses were slightly wrong, the intonation off by just enough to prick at her foggy mind.
Before she could piece it together, she felt the brush of lips against her skin.
It started at her jawline — a soft, lingering press, then moving lower, slower. Her lashes fluttered, a faint, involuntary shiver running down her spine.
"Kook...?" she whispered, her voice small, uncertain.
A quiet hum answered her, almost an imitation of the way Jungkook sometimes responded when too lost in the moment to speak. But there was something different — the sound felt performed, not lived.
His lips trailed further, down the curve of her neck, pausing to linger at the spot just above her collarbone. He pressed harder this time, and she felt the faint pull of skin — a mark being made.
Hayoung's breath stuttered. Her thoughts tangled.
Jungkook's kisses were different. She knew them — the way his hands always cupped her face first, the way his lips curved into a half-smile between kisses, the way his warmth wasn't just heat but comfort.
This... this was not that.
It wasn't rough, but it was deliberate in another way — a way that felt like claiming, not cherishing.
Her brows knitted together, her fingers twitching against the bedsheet as if her body was trying to resist without her mind's permission. "Kook..." she tried again, her voice breaking slightly.
The kisses moved lower, slower, pressing into her skin as if painting invisible warnings. Each one left a faint burn, her pulse beating unevenly beneath the points where his lips touched. She felt another mark being drawn just above her shoulder, and her chest tightened.
Her head swam — from the drug, from the confusion, from the creeping unease threading through her daze.
It didn't feel right.
But her limbs felt heavy, uncooperative, like they belonged to someone else. She tried to tilt her head away, just slightly, but his hand slid to the side of her neck, gentle yet firm, guiding her back.
"Shh," he whispered, his breath hot against her skin. "Just let me take care of you."
Her heart pounded harder. She wanted to say stop. She wanted to ask what are you doing?. But the words got stuck somewhere between her racing mind and her sluggish tongue.
Another kiss landed lower on her neck, and she felt the telltale sting of a hickey forming. That was when the thought finally broke through her haze: Jungkook never does it like this.
It was subtle, but undeniable. His kisses — even when passionate — never carried this undercurrent of calculation. Never this... possession.
Her eyelids fluttered open, and for the briefest moment, her blurry vision caught the outline of his face. The jawline was wrong. The hair — shorter, styled differently. Her chest tightened painfully.
This wasn't Jungkook.
The realization was like ice water down her spine, but her body still wouldn't respond. Her breath quickened, panic threatening to push past the drug's grip.
