The Next Morning – The Turning Point

The smell of toasted bread and freshly brewed coffee filled Jungkook's apartment. Nayoung was already busy in the kitchen, Taehyung trailing behind her like a shadow, chopping vegetables half-heartedly while sneaking glances at Hayoung, who was quietly sipping water on the couch.

Jungkook had just walked out of the bedroom, hair slightly messy, his eyes scanning the living room until they landed on Hayoung. His shoulders eased only when he saw her.

Hayoung looked calm—almost too calm. She greeted him with a small smile.
"Good morning."

"Morning, love," Jungkook answered softly, sitting beside her, brushing his fingers lightly across her hair. "How are you feeling today? Any dizziness?"

"I'm fine," Hayoung replied smoothly, her tone steady. "Actually... I have to go to the office today. I have an important shoot scheduled."

The room froze. Nayoung stopped stirring the pan, Taehyung's knife clattered against the chopping board, and Jungkook's brows knitted instantly.

Jungkook's POV

Office? She wants to go there? To him?

He swallowed his initial protest because Hayoung looked so determined, but his chest tightened. He had spent all night watching over her, erasing every possible trace of what happened, and the idea of her walking back into that man's orbit made his blood boil.

"Hayoung-ah," he said carefully, trying not to sound controlling, "you don't need to push yourself. You're still recovering. Let the agency reschedule."

But her eyes were sharp. Calm.
"I can't, Jungkook. It's important. This isn't just about me—it's the agency's work too. I need to be there."

Her tone was professional, final. The same voice she used when she wanted something untouchable.

Nayoung's POV

Nayoung stared at her sister from the kitchen, every instinct screaming don't go. She wanted to shout, to tell her outright, he's dangerous, we saved you just last night! But she bit her tongue. Hayoung didn't know. At least that's what they thought.

So Nayoung softened her voice instead, her heart aching.
"Hayoung, why don't you just rest one more day? Shoots can wait, right? You're more important than any schedule."

Hayoung smiled faintly at her, a smile so polished it almost hurt Nayoung to look at.
"You worry too much, Nayoung. I promise I'll be careful."

Why does it feel like she's hiding something from me? Nayoung thought, but forced herself to turn back to the pan, tears threatening her eyes.

Taehyung's POV

Taehyung had been quiet since the word "office" left her lips. He clenched his fists under the table, holding back his own anger.

I should've hit that bastard harder that night. How can she even think of going back?

"Hayoung," he said finally, his deep voice calm but heavy, "you don't owe anyone your health. If something feels off, skip it. No one will blame you."

She met his eyes and gave him the same serene smile she had given the others. It unsettled him.
"I'll be okay, Taehyung. I promise."

Taehyung leaned back, defeated. Something about her tone was unshakable. She was going, whether they agreed or not.
