Author's POV

The kitchen was filled with a comfortable hum. Plates clinked, water splashed as Nayoung rinsed the dishes, and Taehyung stacked them neatly. They worked side by side with a rhythm that felt natural — almost domestic.

"Lunch should be lighter," Nayoung murmured, wiping her hands on a towel. "Something easy for Hayoung. Her body still looks tired."

"Soup and rice?" Taehyung suggested, tilting his head. "Maybe some kimchi pancakes too. She'll eat those no matter what."

Nayoung chuckled softly. "Exactly."

It wasn't just cooking anymore. Every meal, every small effort was a way of guarding Hayoung, of giving her back some sense of normalcy.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Jungkook sat with Hayoung curled on the couch beside him. She held a mug of tea, her fingers tracing the rim absentmindedly as they talked.

Hayoung's POV

Jungkook's presence was calming. His voice wrapped around me like a blanket, steady and grounding. We weren't even talking about anything deep — just random things, silly anecdotes, small distractions. But I felt... safe.

Still, a strange heaviness tugged at me. My body felt stiff, my skin prickling with little reminders of something I couldn't quite name.

"I think I'll take a shower," I finally said, setting down the empty mug. "Maybe it'll make me feel fresh."

Jungkook nodded immediately, his smile reassuring. "Go ahead. I'll find you a fresh towel."

I rose slowly, padding into the bathroom. But the moment I stepped inside, I froze.

Something was... off.

The mirror. The large mirror above the sink — gone. Instead, only a faint outline on the wall showed where it had once been.

My brows furrowed. "Where's the mirror?"

Before I could think further, Jungkook appeared at the doorway, leaning casually against the frame. His expression was relaxed, but I noticed the quick flicker in his eyes before he answered.

"Oh, that." He scratched the back of his neck, feigning embarrassment. "I broke it by accident last night. Knocked it over while grabbing something. I didn't want you to get hurt on the glass, so I just removed it. I'll get it fixed soon."

I blinked. That... sounded plausible. I sighed softly, shaking my head. "You and your clumsy hands."

His lips quirked into a sheepish grin. "Yeah, guilty. Sorry. But this clumsy hands only grab your sexy waist at the time of our kiss." He winks at me.

My eyes widened at his playful answer but I chuckled faintly and waved him away. "It's fine. Go — before I make you clean the whole bathroom."

He gave me a playful salute before walking off.

Hayoung's POV (continued, in the shower)

Warm water cascaded down my body, washing away the heaviness of the night. I closed my eyes, letting the steam fog the room. For a few blissful moments, it felt like all the unease could melt away with the lather of soap.

Until my hand brushed over my neck.

"Ah—" I hissed, jerking slightly at the sudden sting. The area was tender, the same spot that had been aching since morning.

I pressed lightly, testing the pain. A bruise? Maybe I had hit something during work? The thought nagged at me.

But Jungkook's words echoed in my head.
