Nayoung's Apartment – Late Evening
The city outside her window glowed with the usual chaos of Seoul nightlife, but Nayoung sat at her desk, unable to focus on the document in front of her. Her pen hovered uselessly over the page. A strange heaviness had been sitting in her chest all day — the kind that made her restless, uneasy, almost short of breath.
She closed her eyes and tried to shake it off. It's just work stress, she told herself. But the feeling wouldn't budge. Instead, it deepened, morphing into a sharp prick of anxiety.
Her mind kept circling back to Hayoung. They hadn't spoken in weeks, not properly, but that instinct — the unexplainable thread between them — told her something was wrong.
Without thinking twice, she reached for her phone. She scrolled to the saved number she'd been secretly using for the past month — Hayoung's assistant, Minji.
The call connected after two rings.
"Ah, Ms. Lee," Minji's voice was quiet, as though she was somewhere she couldn't talk too loudly.
"Minji," Nayoung said quickly, skipping any pleasantries. "Where is Hayoung right now?"
There was a pause. "She's... busy, ma'am. She left the shoot location earlier this evening."
"Busy where?" Nayoung pressed, her tone sharp. "I need to know exactly."
"I... uh..." Minji hesitated, clearly conflicted. But she had grown to trust Nayoung over the past month, slipping her updates without Hayoung's knowledge. "She said she had some work with Mr. Sharma... at his apartment."
For a moment, Nayoung's body went cold. The words hit like ice water down her spine.
"His... apartment?" she repeated slowly, the disbelief in her voice edged with alarm.
"Yes," Minji whispered. "She didn't want the driver to know either. She took her own car. I thought you—"
But Nayoung had already hung up. Her pulse roared in her ears. Every instinct, every past suspicion about Rohan Sharma's intentions now crystallized into a single terrifying certainty.
She grabbed her coat and bag, moving fast, barely aware that she was slipping on mismatched shoes. Her hands were trembling as she pulled up Taehyung's contact.
The phone rang once.
"Nayoung?" Taehyung's voice was laced with surprise — he hadn't heard from her much lately either.
"She's at his apartment," Nayoung said in a rush, breathless, her voice cracking under the urgency.
There was a beat of silence. "Who?"
"Hayoung! She's at Rohan Sharma's apartment — tonight! I just found out from Minji. I don't know why, but I know something's wrong, Taehyung. I can feel it. You have to help me get there."
Her words tumbled over each other, frantic and raw.
Taehyung didn't waste time with questions. "Send me the address. I'm leaving right now."
Nayoung exhaled shakily, sending him the pinned location Minji had reluctantly shared earlier in the month. She didn't even stop to grab her keys properly — just shoved them into her coat pocket and bolted for the door.
The only thought pounding in her mind as she hurried to her car was clear and terrifying:
I'm not losing her to him.
Hayoung and boss's scene continues>>>>>
Hayoung's eyelids felt heavier with every blink. The warm, slightly bitter aftertaste of the coffee lingered on her tongue, but she couldn't place why her pulse felt slower, why her limbs seemed weighted as though she had just run a marathon.
