Jungkook's POV

The night was the longest I've ever lived.

Her skin burned with the marks I couldn't erase, her breaths came shallow, and her fingers trembled even in sleep. I sat there for hours, medicine in hand, dabbing ointment onto every wound left by that monster. My hands shook — not because I didn't know what to do, but because every mark made me feel like I'd failed her.

When she flinched in her sleep, I froze. My chest tightened. I whispered, "It's me, Hayoung. You're safe. I'm here."

Finally, when the clock neared dawn, I slid into the bed beside her. Not to hold her — I didn't deserve to after what she'd been through. But I lay close enough so that if she reached out in her dreams, she'd find me there.

My arm rested just over her, not touching, but guarding. My eyes never closed fully. Every time she stirred, I sat up, checked her breathing, pressed another kiss to her forehead.

Morning light slipped through the curtains, painting her pale skin in soft gold. She stirred, her lashes fluttering, but didn't wake. I brushed her hair gently and whispered, "I'll protect you even from your own memories, if I have to."

And for the first time in hours, I let out a breath that wasn't weighed down by guilt — just love.

Hayoung's POV

Warmth.

That's what I felt first. The kind of warmth that wraps you up even before your eyes open.

I stirred, my body heavy, my head cloudy, but there was something steady beside me. Solid. Gentle.

Familiar.

I blinked slowly. And there he was.

Jungkook.

His eyes were half-lidded from lack of sleep, his hair messy, his lips chapped. But he was here. Right next to me. Watching me like I was something fragile, something precious.

For a moment, my chest ached. I didn't understand everything. My memories blurred, pieces missing, but deep inside, I knew something wasn't right.

Still... the sight of him here grounded me.

"You stayed?" My voice cracked, faint.

He only nodded, his jaw tightening as if holding back a thousand emotions. He reached forward, his fingers brushing mine carefully, like I might break.

And I realized — maybe I had. But if he was here... maybe I could be pieced back together.

Taehyung's POV

I woke up stiff on Jungkook's couch, Nayoung curled against me like a shield refusing to move even in her sleep. The first thing I noticed was the silence. The kind of silence that holds its breath.

I rose quietly, padding toward the bedroom. The door was ajar, sunlight spilling out. And what I saw inside made my throat tighten.

Jungkook was awake. Hayoung was half-awake. And they weren't speaking much. They didn't need to.

The way he hovered over her, his hand resting just close enough to reassure, his eyes watching every flicker of her face — it wasn't pity. It was devotion.

I felt Nayoung step beside me, her hand slipping into mine. She didn't speak, but I knew she saw it too.

And in that moment, I thought — maybe this was what Hayoung needed most. Not explanations, not confrontation. Just Jungkook's presence. The kind of love that spoke louder in silence than in words.
