Chapter 60: Epilogue

Eight Years Later

'YOU'RE LATE!'

'Ow!'

'Ow!'

Sakura and I glared at our husbands - Masoto and Sasuke respectively after hitting them on the head with roles of newspapers.

Naruto stood between them, looking awkward and slightly scared of me and Sakura.

'What was that for?' Masoto whined, rubbing his head. 'You guys told us to go get drinks -'

'The drink store's just across the road and yet you three took so long to get back!' I growled, pointing the role of newspaper between my twin brother's eyes.

He backed up, putting up his hands in defense.

'Geez ... it's never a good a idea when we leave you three together.' Sakura muttered, rubbing her temples.

'We didn't take that long, did we?' Naruto said, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.

'Well, you were gone for an hour actually ...'Hinata said softly, her toddler seated on her lap. His head cocked to one side as he watched the scene in front of him curiosly.

'Everyone's hungry - I'm hungry! We can't eat without drinks!' I scolded Sasuke who's hands were turning slightly white from holding the plastic bag which carried several heavy bottled drinks.

'All right, all right ...' he sighed, setting down the drinks on the table. 'Sorry, we were having a hard time deciding on which drinks to get.'

I rolled my eyes but I couldn't stay mad at him. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Masoto giving Sakura the puppy dog eyes - she eventually forgave him.

Sasuke and I decided to hold a party at our house for new year. Practically everyone was here : Naruto and Hinata and their son Boruto, Sakura and Masoto, Nii-san, Lee, Ten Ten, Ino and Sai and their son, Shikamaru and Temari, together with their son as well, Kiba and his wife, Shino, Choji and Karui with their daughter, Kakashi sensei, Kurenei sensei and her child, Captain Yamato, Gai sensei, Kankuro and even Gaara had somehow managed to come.

'You should really be quick when Makoto's hungry, Sasuke - especially now that that she's eating for two.' Kakashi sensei said, his arm casually draped over the shoulders of his lover - Nii-san.

It did shock us all when they first came out to us but we eventually started being okay with it. Masoto and I were never against it in the first place, we were just shocked. Anyways, we were just happy to see Nii-san happy with someone. Of course the fangirls for both jounins were thoroughly heartbroken. Nii-san said it was mean of me and Masoto to laugh at them when they were in tears - but we still laughed anyways.

'Alright ... alright ...' Sasuke mumbled, trying to hide his smile.

I put a hand on the small bump that was forming on my stomach and smiled as well.

'Have you decided on it's name?' Gaara asked curiosly.

'Not yet.' I answered. 'We'll decide once we find out its gender.'

'Oi Shikamaru, help me out with the drinks.' Kiba said, bringing the drinks outside to the garden.

Shikamaru sighed lazily. 'Ask Sai.'

'Shikamaru.' Temari said, her tone warning him to help Kiba.

'Alright, alright ...' Shikamaru sighed, dragging his body off the couch.

I chuckled at him. He caught my eye and cracked into a small smile.

'We should hurry, the fireworks are going to go off in fifteen minutes!' Ten Ten said excitedly, grabbing a dozen plastic plates and running out of the house.

'Careful!' Ino yelled after her.

After setting up everything, all of us were seated on the grass, gazing up at the fireworks which lit the up the entire sky into a colourful artpiece.

I looked at my friends, brothers and husband and smiled gratefully. I couldn't ask for more. Along the years, we changed but our friendships only seemed to have strengthened. Romance blossomed between the most surprising people - especially for my brothers.

I felt Sasuke's arm snake around my waist. He rested his hand on my stomach and pressed his lips to my temple.

'What are you thinking of?' he asked, smiling.

I brushed his fringe out of his eye to take a good look at his face. 'Nothing in particular.' I answered, leaning into him. 'I'm just glad that everyone's here with me now. I couldn't be happier.'

He chuckled, putting a hand beneath my chin and kissing me on the lips.

Things didn't seem alright in the beginning. But now, I had everything I've ever wanted. I was surrounded by all the people I love and I was completely okay with that.

It's actually finished now, I am shocked lol. But thank you so much for those of you who showered me with your support from the beginning till the end. I love you guys so much! I hope you enjoyed the epilogue. Anyways, I might make new little stories based on this story in future. I'm planning to but nothing is confirmed yet. Also, I will be starting on a new fanfiction also and it's gonna be a Kamisama Hajimemashita one and I hope you'll support that story as well although I'm not so sure when it'll be up.
