Sasuke and I remained normal after the incident. Neither of us brought it up and I was pretty upset about it. I wanted to know what his feelings were towards me but I guess I just have to wait it out and not get my hopes high.
I noticed my cheeks turn slightly pink in the mirror as I tied my hair up. I guess my feelings towards Sasuke were getting stronger. I'd be seeing him soon since I was currently getting ready to leave for a mission. I was grateful too. Nii-san's been gone for an ANBU mission for two days and living under the same roof with only my parents without Nii-san has been absolutely annoying.
I swung open my bedroom door and ran down the stairs, hoping to slip past my parents who were seated on the couch. Of course, me being me, was unable to do so.
I tripped over my feet and collided into a shelf with a vase on it before falling flat on my face, knocking over the shelf and taking the vase down with me.
CRASH.
Otousan and Okaasan jumped up and turned to look at me. From surprised, they're expressions turned to disappointment, embarrassed and annoyed.
Okaasan tutted disapprovingly. 'Look at you, you're a mess!'
'How can you cause so much commotion at once?' Otousan added, pinching the bridge of his nose.
'I didn't do it on purpose.' I grumbled, pushing myself up.
'Stop being so disrespectful!' Otousan scolded. 'Why can't you be more like your Nii-san?'
I rolled my eyes. 'Because he's an ANBU and I'm not?'
'Maybe if you actually tried you'd be able to achieve something!' Okaasan snapped, eyes narrowed. 'Stop embarrassing the entire clan! Just think about how embarrassed Mamoru is having you as a sister -'
That did it. I pushed past them and ran out of the house, slamming the door behind me.
Breathing heavily, I walked over to the gates of Konoha, ignoring the fact that only Sasuke was there, giving me a strange look.
He walked over to me and raised an eyebrow. 'What's wrong with you?'
'My parents! They're so -' I stopped midway, remembering that he had no parents. I wasn't in any position to complain about my parents to someone who had theirs killed. I didn't complain about my parents to Naruto as well, nor do I complain about Otousan to Kiba. I knew better than to. 'Nothing ... I just ... Just had a fight with them, that's all.'
A small smile played on his lips. He took a step towards me. 'Thank you.'
'What for?' I said, trying to hide my blush that I was sure was forming.
'For ... Understanding.' he said softly, blushing. I couldn't help but smile, feeling pleased.
'Oi! Makoto! Sasuke!'
Sasuke's smile flickered to an annoyed expression. I gave him a look of concern before waving at Naruto.
I stood awkwardly between the two boys, waiting for Sakura to arrive. Seriously, where the hell was she? I was getting more and more uncomfortable here. Sasuke kept glaring at Naruto while Naruto doesn't even seem to notice - he was too busy talking about ramen.

'Bye!'
We completed our mission. We were now heading back and we currently saying our goodbyes to the villagers at the edge of the ship.
I turned my head and noticed Sasuke sitting down alone in a corner, his eyes shooting daggers at Naruto's back. His eyes ... He was scaring me. Walking away from Naruto and Sakura to Sasuke, I knelt down in front of him. Eyeing the bandages wrapped around his ribs which he obtained after a fight during the mission.
I put a hand on his shoulder and looked at him worriedly.'Sasuke? Are you alri -'
His eyes darted towards mine, still filled anger. 'Don't touch me.'
I flinched, removing my hand from his shoulder. Feeling my heart skip a beat and as though someone had physically slapped me in the heart.
'Oi idiot!' said Naruto, appearing next to me and glaring down at Sasuke. 'Makoto's just concerned about you -'
'Ah ... Naruto.' I forced a smile. 'He's probably just in pain and tired.' I turned to Sasuke and whispered, 'If you want to talk about it, I'll willingly listen.'
His look of anger turned to a look of shock and confusion. I gave him a sad smile before getting up.
'But -' Naruto began and I swung an arm around his shoulders.
'It's alright, Naruto. C'mon - you can tell me about what ramen you're going to eat when we get back.' I said, dragging him from Sasuke. I gave Sasuke a final glance of concern before walking away with Naruto.
{AUTHOR'S NOTE}
Hey guys~ sorry about this short chapter, the next one will be longer and hopefully better. Sasuke's leaving the village soon as well so the Shippuden 'era' is coming up soon. Anyways, I'm thinking of creating a new fanfic. It's an OC/Shikamaru and I've thought of the plot and stuff and I'm wondering whether I should start writing it. What do you guys think? Should I start now or complete this one first?
