Chapter 6: Our first real fight

'It's Sasuke, I'm at point B,'

'This is Sakura, arrived at point C.'

'Makoto, here. At point D,'

'This is Naruto, arrived at point A.'

'You're slow, Naruto.' Kakashi sensei sighed through the mic. 'Okay, 7th unit ... The target has moved! After it!'

'Okay, he's there.' Sakura said softly into the mic as we concealed ourselves from the target behind trees.

'What's the distance to the target?' Sensei asked.

'Five meters. I'm ready to go,' said Naruto, quietly.

'I am too,' said Sasuke.

'Me too,' came Sakura's voice.

'Ready as I'll ever be,' I said.

'Okay ... Go!' Kakashi sensei signaled.

The four of us jumped out of our hiding spots and towards the target.

'We've got you now!' I said triumphantly.

'YAAAAAAAAA!!!!' Naruto yelled, his arms stretched out.

He wrapped his arms around the cat, which struggled to break free. 'I've got you!' He said proudly.

The cat then started scratching Naruto in the face. Sakura stared at it in interest while I tried to grab hold of the cat's legs to stop it from scratching Naruto's eyes out.

'Does it have a ribbon on its right ear?' Kakashi sensei asked into the mic. 'Is it our target, Tora?'

'It's the target for sure,' Sasuke answered for all of us.

'Okay. "Operation capture Tora the lost pet" complete.'

'ISN'T THERE A MORE EXCITING MISSION WE CAN WORK ON?!' Naruto yelled into the mic, causing us all to flinch and me to fall flat on my face. Idiot boy ...

'Ohh, my cute Tora-chan! I was so worried about you!'

I winced as I witnessed the scene of the poor cat getting tortured - sorry - hugged, by it's owner.

Naruto sniggered. 'Hehe, that cat's getting what it deserves.'

'No wonder it ran away,' Sakura said quietly.

'Now then,' the Hokage said, reading off a sheet of paper. 'Kakashi's 7th unit's next mission is -babysitting Yojyu-sama's boy, grocery shopping at the neighboring town,helping dig up potatoes at -'

'No!' Naruto yelled, surprising the Hokage. 'No thanks to all of those!' He made a cross with his arms. 'I want to do a more exciting mission! Choose something else!'

I bit my lower lip. I do agree with Naruto, but ... He could of said it in a more pleasant way.

'Idiot!' Iruka sensei scolded, getting up from his chair and putting both hands on the table. 'You're still a novice ninja! Everyone needs to start with the easy missions to gain experience!'

'But, but! We've only been doing dumb missions lately!' Naruto complained, causing Kakashi sensei to hit him on the head, knocking him onto floor.

'Cut it out.' He said.

'Naruto,' the Hokage called, as Naruto sat up, rubbing his head where Kakashi sensei had hit him. 'It looks like I have to explain to you what missions are.'
