'Are you freaking kidding me?' I yelled, throwing my hands up and feeling outraged. 'Why the hell would you even own actual shurikens when you could use such a jutsu?'
'What's with that jutsu?' Naruto yelled, sounding just as shocked and angry as I felt.
Kasumi's smirked, looking proud. 'There, there. No need to be jealous because I can use ninjutsu and you can't.'
My eye twitched. 'Who the hell said I couldn't use ninjutsu?' I avoided her eyes and mumbled, 'I just really suck at it.'
'Talking to yourself will get you nowhere.' Kasumi commented. I had to push back the feeling of wanting to throw a table at her face. Instead, I took out my right sandal and chucked it at her. Surprisingly, it hit her square in the face.
The once tense atmosphere turned awkward. I felt everyone's eyes on me, as if I had done something incredibly stupid.
Well, technically, you did.
Oh, shut up.
Wonderful. Here I am, fighting mentally with myself during an actual fight with an extremely annoying but pretty lady.
'Why the heck would you throw your shoe?' I heard Sakura's voice yell at me.
My eye twitched in annoyance before I pointed a finger at her. 'You, shut up! I have a limited supply of weapons, okay?'
'I'll kill you!' Kasumi growled, after getting over the shock of getting a shoe thrown at her face.
With a flick of her wrists, the water shurikens can flying towards me.
I cursed, being able to dodge all but one which left me a nasty cut across the cheek.
More water shurikens appeared and I leapt to one side. It wasn't going that bad until my ankle demanded for attention.
I felt an excruciating pain in the bad ankle, making me lose balance and fall to the floor.
I hissed in pain, massaging the bad ankle. What great timing.
'That ankle sure is causing you a lot of trouble.' Kasumi's grinned maliciously. 'Maybe I should cut it off -'
'Maybe you should jump off a cliff.' I retorted angrily.
Her grin was replaced by an annoyed look. 'Water Style: Hidden Mist Jutsu!'
'Damn.' I muttered, watching as a thick layer of mist surrounded us. I had to do something.
I held up two fingers. 'Byakugan!'
What am I doing? That's not going to work. Should I give up?
'Oi! Makoto! You can do this!' Naruto's voice rang, jarring me from my thoughts.
Feeling slightly encouraged, I pushed myself up, only to get kicked in the stomach.
I flew backwards, my back coming into contact with the wall.
I heard a worried voice call out my name but I was too dazed to know who it was. Landing on all fours, I was about to push myself up when something whizzed past my cheek. I felt the area sting.
My hand automatically went up to my cheek. I felt a liquid that was hot and sticky. Blood.
I muttered a curse under my breath. This damn mist, I thought. If I had Kiba's nose, this would have been a hell lot easier.
I felt a kick land on my stomach and without thinking, I grabbed onto the leg and forced myself up, ignoring the pleas of my injured ankle.
'Let go of me!' I heard Kasumi yelled.
'Don't think I will.' I replied, taking out a kunai and slashing her mercilessly across the leg.
She screamed in rage and pain. I was about to congratulate myself when I felt a fist come into contact with my stomach. I stumbled back, seeing blue and purple spots everywhere.
The mist cleared once again, revealing a very angry Kasumi. I couldn't help but smirk in satisfaction seeing that I had left a deep gash across her leg all the way from her knee to her ankle.
Before she could plan her next attack, I whipped out four Kunais - two in each hand, and tossed them at her.
I guess the little souvenir I gave her on her leg really hurt because she was unable to dodge my Kunais except for one.
'You're dead!' she snarled. She started doing hand signs.
'Funny.' I said, throwing a shuriken at her hands, separating them as blood dripped onto the floor. 'You wouldn't thinking I'd still be talking and walking.'
This damn ankle was restricting me from running. I clicked my tongue in frustration. How to beat her? How to beat her?
A searing pain shot through my ankle, making me crumple.
Kasumi laughed.'You're ankle really seems to be bothering you, maybe I should really cut it off!'
She walked towards me, her eyes glinting evilly. Her upper body bent down and she whispered into my ear.
'You're going to die today.'
I hissed and my hand shot forward with so much force, landing on her abdomen, causing her to fall backwards, clutching it in pain, gasping for air.
'Sorry, I don't plan on dying just yet.' I told her, sitting on her stomach. I took out a kunai and pointed it under her neck.
She whimpered in fear. I moved the kunai and held it an inch from her eye.
'NO!' she yelled, shutting her eyes and trying to push me off her, but failing since I had collected my chakra at my feet.
I raised the kunai and dove it straight down, barely an inch near her neck and into the floor.
She screamed. Her eyes flew open when she realized I hadn't actually stabbed her.
'I give up! I give up!' she cried. 'I don't want to die! Get off me!'
'Winner: Tsukino Masoto!'
The stadium erupted into cheers, leaving me dazed. I could feel someone gently pulling me away from Kasumi. Putting his or her hand on my shoulder.
I won. I actually won.
'Good job, Makoto.'
I only then realized that Shikamaru was standing in front of me, looking amused while Naruto was grinning from ear to ear.
'I knew you could do it!' Naruto laughed, slapping me across the back in a friendly gesture. I guess I was really weak because I fell forward, landing on my hands and knees.
'Naruto, don't be so rough.'
I looked up and realized it was Kakashi sensei who had lead me away from Kasumi.
'Oh, hi sensei.' I said, changing my position and sitting cross-legged.
He smiled. 'Makoto, you'll have to go to the hospital to get that ankle checked.'
'Alright. When?'
'Now.'
I blinked. 'Now as in now, now?
'Yes.'
'What? No!' I protested. 'I want to watch the rest of the match!'
Kakashi sensei sighed. 'You're ankle will only get worse -'
'No!' I wrapped each arm around Naruto and Shikamaru's leg. 'I need to watch.'
Kakashi sensei looked at me exasperatedly. 'Alright ... Alright.'
I grinned. Victory!

'You're now free to go.' the nurse said, smiling at me sweetly.
'Alright, thanks.'
I walked out of the hospital gingerly. My ankle had been fixed but it still hurt. I started replaying the fight with Kasumi repeatedly in my head.
'Makoto.'
I turned.
Nii-san stood in a shade, leaning against a tree with a book in his hands. He wasn't dressed like an ANBU but rather, was wearing a tight sleeveless navy blue shirt and a pair of black trousers.
'Nii-san!' I grinned. Walking over quickly to him but he appeared by my side, a hand on my shoulder.
'Be careful, don't strain your ankle.' He said sternly.
He carried me on his back while we went back home.
'Congratulations on winning.' Nii-san said, smiling.
I grinned, telling him all about the fight and how I thought I'd probably die. Hey, I'm still twelve - don't judge. I'll act like a child when I want to.
'Say, Nii-san.'
'What is it?'
'Can you help me train?'
He stopped, turning to look at me guiltily. I knew I shouldn't be asking this since he's always so busy with ANBU missions but I just had to win the next round as well. I'm going against a guy who looked about sixteen from the Cloud.
'Makoto, I'm not so sure ...' His voice faltered. 'I'm not free that often.'
'I understand.' I said, forcing a smile at him before resting my head on his back. My smile disappeared.
'Hey, I'll help you whenever I'm free, alright? I'd like to help even more but -'
'It's alright.' I tightened my arms around his neck. Not in way that I could strangle him, but more like I was hugging him to let him know I wasn't upset at him.
{AUTHOR' NOTE}
Hey guys
I know the last two chapters had absolutely nothing to do with Sasuke and Masoto's relationship. I'm sorry about that but I'll be getting to that part in the next chapter. Sorry if the fight scene wasn't really well written, it's the first time I've ever written and action scene. Anyways, thanks for reading ~
