《Well, ladies, now that tea time is over, or if it's still going on: sorry for the interruption!》 Jakob begins, in his usual sarcastic tone, leaning against the doorframe with a lit cigarette in his mouth.
《But we have to leave!》 he ends his monologue.
I'm afraid Heidi won't take this gesture well...
《JAKOB! YOU TOLD ME YOU'D QUIT!》 ...never mind...
《Come on! What's the harm?》 he says, taking a quick drag.
Heidi immediately grabs the comb and approaches Jakob, waving it at him. He doesn't move, until he finds himself face to face with an angry Heidi, armed with a wooden comb, less than a metre away, at which point he bolts down the corridor.
What a scene!
Like something out of a film, a comedy film, of course!
Heidi chases him down the corridor, and what am I supposed to do, not chase them? Obviously, I enjoy the show!
But they don't get very far, as they are at the end of the corridor...
Jakob on the floor.
Heidi beating him.
And poor Frantz on the floor...
How I wish I had a camera!
《Ouch!》 he complains, as he receives repeated blows to the head. 《Good, suffer, idiot! That'll teach you to lie to me and smoke!》 she scolds him, throwing the comb at his head for the umpteenth time. 《You're really mean, you know that?》《I know.》 They look like husband and wife when they argue!《Um, I can get up...?》 asks Frantz, who is pinned under Jakob. I gather that Jakob fell on top of him during the "escape." Heidi glares at him... poor thing! 《...okay, I'll shut up...》 He immediately lowers his gaze and takes back everything he said. I feel a little sorry for him...
《Weren't we supposed to... go?》 I draw the attention of the three, bringing up the real reason why Jakob was there. 《We have to go to Germany!》
《True, if this Schöne Hexe (beautiful witch) leaves me alone, maybe I can drive to Germany, otherwise, good luck walking there! Especially the Alps!》 Jakob chuckles under his breath, earning himself one last blow from the "Schöne Hexe", but he's saved himself: because if he had just called her a witch, she would have got angry, so imagine if he had called her an ugly witch! Now we had a corpse for a driver and escort!
Not the best of scenarios...
《The little girl is right, you seem more childish than she does!》 Frantz points out, as soon as he gets up from that uncomfortable position, which earns him two fiery glances. To be honest, Frantz is younger than them too! So don't just pick on me!
Hypocrite!
《Come on, you've packed your bags, we're leaving in half an hour》 says Jakob, moving away from Heidi for good and straightening his jacket, which she has creased with her comb... it's funny when you think about it! That a comb can do so much damage in the wrong hands! Almost worse than a gun!
《Yes, suitcases are ready, I hope I don't catch you smoking again, because I swear I'll really fix you up for the trip!》 she threatens him, but you can see that he's not very affected by it, since he's smiling: who knows what's going through his mind?
《Yes, ma'am...》 he says jokingly, walking away with his hands up in surrender, then bursting out laughing as he quickens his pace down the corridor and disappears down the stairs: most likely towards the car!
《Well, ladies, can I help you with your suitcases?》Frantz asks us, to lighten the mood and also to be a gentleman. I hand him mine, while Heidi just points to where hers is... Heidi is angry...
I foresee a long journey...
《Ah, Frantz! Are you going straight to Germany?》《Um, Ja? Why?》He looks at me strangely as he takes my suitcase too.《Do you have transport?》I can see he's not understanding the point of the conversation: I'm confusing him! 《Yes? Get to the point?》 《No, because if you didn't have a way to get to Germany, you could have come with us... so you could keep me company, but never mind!》 I can see he's finally understanding something of our brief but rich conversation. 《Ah, I'm sorry, I'd save you from the teenage drama that's unfolding, but I can't》 he explains, then leans closer to me and whispers in my ear, 《I'm borrowing my boss's car...》 Ohhh, that's why! Yes, I think it's best if you return it as soon as possible.
