Mika POV (all you fangirls are fangirling hard right now)
"Are you sure you want to send me there?" I asked, looking up from the piece of paper with the report, looking at the queen. She crisscrossed her legs and sighed.
"Yes. I sent two guards there as is, but I want to make sure it's secure." She said with a bored attitude.
I give a gruff sigh and nod, turning away and out of the throne room. Maybe this can be another chance. I can search for Yuu.
The people I'll be meeting for body guarding, Allan Greyhorn and Claire Dietrich. They both sound like interesting individuals, but I don't think I'll get along with Allan, in his file it says he has a large taste for drinking at the source.
I stop at my barracks and start to get changed, first with my shirt as I open my closet and find my white garb there. Back when I was human, this outfit used to make me think evil and disorder.
But I've come to rely on it for some reason.
I take my sword after getting my uniform on and stand firm in front of a mirror. Good.
Don't worry Yuu, I will find you...
And save you from those filthy humans!
Waylon POV
The large train station we were walking through seemed to be an old reserve for humans. There was plenty of humans in white clothing, all cowering in fear even though we were human.
I grit my teeth and clench my fists in anger, how could vampires treat us like this? This is wrong no matter how you look at it.
A hand touches my shoulder and I turn to find Miramoto there, which surprised me. She still had a slight smile, but shorter than usual. There was a certain look of melancholy about her that made me frown.
"We'll help them after our mission." She said silently.
I nodded slightly, me and her had been assigned to this floor of the train station, the other three were above us, searching for any vampires that might be prowling around.
I hear a slight sound and jump, aiming my gun towards the direction and making surprised breathes. Miramoto put a hand on mine and made me lower my gun which was aimed at a little girl.
I put my gun away as the little girl jogged away in fear. I would apologize, but the words didn't come out.
"Its okay." Miramoto whispered, close to my ear.
I flinched and looked at her. "Yeah... I'm just a bit jumpy. I've never seen a real vampire before." I said, scratching my head.
She smiled and grabbed my hand, which made me blush brightly, thank god it was dark down here.
"I'm right here." She said sweetly.
I slowly smiled, though she's a sadistic and possibly the most scary person I've met, her sweet voice still is able to soothe me easily. I nod to reassure her and start to walk, but she keeps holding my hand until we make our way into another hallway.
"You have amnesia, right?" She asked suddenly.
"Yeah... I guess." I mumbled an answer, not really comfortable talking about it.
She giggled a bit. "How lucky." She whispered.
"Lucky?" I asked.
Her smile widened and she snuggled my arm, which made me more nervous than before. Her huge breasts were up against my arm. As I'm about to point this out, she speaks up.
"I was once like them, y'know?" She said, looking at one of the dead humans in the white clothe. Most of them were dead from starvation or from having their blood sucked.
"You were a blood slave?" I asked, frowning.
She nodded. "Yes. My father and mother always made it so I was never used as cattle by them, they were super protective." She said.
"Parents..." I murmured to myself, wondering what my parents were like. Are they still out there?
"Then one day, the vampires were evacuating the area, and they wanted to be full on blood before they left. So they sucked the life out of my parents." She said, a tinge of sad in her voice. "They died while I sat and was rescued by human soldiers there to save some of us.
"They started to fight... and I guess I lost it when I saw all of the blood... I remember grabbing a dead soldiers blade and then-"
I place a hand on her shoulder to stop her. She looked at me with a straight face, but I close my eyes, as to tell her to say no more. Rage can make one do things that make them a monster. I suppose the military wanted this monster in their ranks, that's why she's here.
"Then... we're both orphans." I said with a small smile.
She nodded with a sad smile. "I suppose we are alike in that matter... but... do I scare you?" She asked.
I tried to look down at her face, but it was shadowed by her bangs, and I couldn't get a good read on her. But I suppose I should tell her the truth.
"Yeah. I was scared, only at first though. But then I thought that you might have your own reasons for being like that... so if I have to become friends with someone like that, it didn't matter." I explained, scratching my cheek.
She didn't say anything as we made it to the stairs and climbed them, the sun light above finally hitting our faces and we stepped out. The sky scraper above towered over us, making me feel like an ant.
"Hey... can I call you by your first name since we're friends?" She asked, a smile on her face that made my chest ache.
"S-Sure... Shiina." I mumbled.
She smiled brightly and patted my back, walking towards the others that were a few blocks away. "C'mon, Waylon. They're going to wonder what's taking us so long."
(As you can tell, these chapters are build up for the first arc, and the time that Waylon gets to know his teammates better and forge a bond. Nonetheless I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful day!) - MnMs171
