Waylon POV

Standing in the plain field once again, I see another image of my broken past. It looks to be a room, with a small cake and candles in it.

I seem to be around eight or nine, seeing for how much candles on the cake are placed. I look to the right to see a woman there, long black hair, put into a braid. She had pale skin, and sapphire eyes.

"Mom, can I blow out the candles now?" I asked, only a small smile on my face.

So this was my mother? She sure looked like me now that I think about it, she has the same eyes. She was a small and beautiful looking woman, her eyes were kind.

"No, not just yet. We have to wait for your father." She said, a small smile still there. Even as a child, I knew that the smile she showed was for me, but it was fake.

I look over at a family portrait and find me, my mother, and another man. Apparently he was my father, but he doesn't look like me at all.

I'm smart for a child, so even I can tell that he was actually my step father.

The door suddenly opened to show my step father, who was breathing heavily, sweat running down his face. "Pack your bags, were leaving!" He said suddenly, quickly heading to the master bedroom.

My mother looked confused, looking out the window. I saw a brief flash of fire in the streets, and my mother covered the window with the blinds to keep me from seeing.

"Pack your bags!" She said to me, making my flinch at her harsh tone suddenly.

I jump off the seat I was in and wonder to the window when their not looking, and glance outside. All I see is fire, and people in white cloaks walking down the streets, killing humans with swords.

Some cop cars are crashed into buildings and such.

Suddenly, everything went wrong.

My mother started to cry out, coughing up blood and praying to god for some reason. My step father though fell over quickly, dying instantly.

I stared in horror as my mother crawled over to me with barely any strength, and looked into my eyes with a certain look that even now I don't know what meant.

She then fell, her face hitting the wooden floor hard and the blood leaking from her mouth spreading below her head.

I at first didn't do anything, just stared down at my dead mother. I then slowly shook her, whispering.

"Hey... Mom... hey... Mom..." I said over and over.

After some time of just doing that, the door opened to reveal a man in a white cloak, looking down at me. He grabbed my throat, starting to choke me.

I reached over, digging my nails into his arm, but he didn't react. Suddenly a voice rang out, a yell.

The vampire screamed in pain, and his arm was suddenly cut off. I stared in wonder as I fell on my ass and stared up at the men and woman coming in.

Each looked about in their teen years. But now that you think about it, they should've died from the event too, so why weren't they dead? I had heard from Tsuhiko that the teens that survived that are now adults today are the ones that were given a special antidote before it actually happened.

Because humans knew this was coming.

It was cruel but true that humans are disgusting sometimes.

As they finished off the vampires, they grabbed me, blind folding me and hauling my screaming into a truck.

"Subject caught, moving to drop point." I heard one guy say over the com.

The rest of the memory blurred, and I came to.

- - -

I sit straight up, screaming just like I was when they hauled me on that truck back then. I stop myself and run a hand through my hair, taking deep breaths.

That was... when the event happened, right?

Why did those special people with the antidote and cursed weapons come to get me, out of everyone? I sigh and lean back on the bed again.

"Weird... very interesting though." Lilith said in my mind, I could see her smirk already.

"Yeah well, see if you can claw anything else out. This leaves me with too much questions." I said, getting out of my bed and getting changed.

"Oh I love it when your greedy!" Lilith said with a playful voice.

I ignore that comment and keep getting ready. After eating breakfast and taking a quick shower, I'm in my uniform and heading out.

"See you la-!" I stop myself at the door from finishing my sentence. It seems the thoughts of me being alone now still hasn't set in. I grit my teeth and slam the door in anger, locking it and leaving the premises.

Shinoa POV

I wait for the others while tapping my finger on a table. Why are they always so late? Being part of the Shinjuku raid should be a pressing concern for them, yet their making me wait?

I guess I'll have to think up a punishment game later or them. I smirk to myself as I think this, but quickly erase that as I see Waylon walk into the room, a blank expression on.

"Good morning, Mister Brooding!" I said, giving him a playful look.

Waylon ignores my greeting and sits down quietly, taking out one of his guns and starts to clean it. Maybe I should strike up a conversation with him? He is my subordinate, so I should get to know him.

Or I should spy on him like I did with Yu and Kimizuki, hehehe.

I see that Waylon is looking over at me, and I quickly try to wipe the evil smirk off my face. He looks back down at his weapon and speaks.

"So what's the deal with Shinjuku?" He asked.

I'm surprised at his attempt of conversation, so I oblige this chance. "Were going to be heading to a mission in Shinjuku to fend off a few Vampire forces... there is word of a noble being there as well." I explain.

The door opens suddenly to reveal everyone else, Yu in front of everyone with a big smile. "Good! That means we can kill them all!" He said triumphantly.

"Really?" Waylon said, his voice had a doubtful edge.

Yu frowned at him. "Yeah, really! Just you watch!" He said, pointing at him in the face.

Waylon showed no reaction to this, but only looked away and back at me. "Then let's get going." He said plainly, picking up his gun and hat.

"Wha-! Already?!" Yu said, a tinge of whining in his voice.

I smirk at him as Waylon and the others are already leaving. "Coming or not? Gonna let him out show you again? Now's your chance to show him." I said, playing him into my hands.

Yu took the bait.

"Yeah! I'll show him." He said, rushing out.

I giggle to myself as I lag behind, the squad heading for the gates. Yu is such an idiot, which makes him easy to mess with~.

(And here goes the Shinjuku arc [which was the arc where Yu went bat Shit crazy], so you can tell where this is going! Nonetheless I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful day!) - MnMs171
