God this chapter is long... and sad... and you guys are gonna hate me...
Waylon POV
Ow, my head hurts like hell. I can't believe I let my guard down that easily. I need to be more careful with how I talk to Damn vampires.
I rub my head as I stand up, the rubble around me finally settling. I fell into the rubble, where am I?
I turn on my flashlight, and scan through the darkness. It seems the building fell into the subway station. The whole place smelled of old alcohol and cigars, funny to see those smells make it from the old world even now exist.
I dust myself off but stop myself as I'm about to head out, finding a struggling person a bit aways from me. It was a girl, about the same age as me it looked like it.
Her long velvet hair was quite beautiful, and her eyes were filled with intensity. She was stuck under rubble, at least her legs were.
I walk over to her. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked, but froze once I saw her fangs, and the outfit she wore. She's a vampire?!?
I'm about to draw my weapons, but stop once I see her cover her head, a frightened look as she closed her eyes and waited for to attack.
She was afraid?
I've never heard of a vampire being afraid of death. I slowly put my hands to my sides and step towards her, slowly tracing my hands around the rubble.
"I'm gonna lift this, okay?" I said, making her blink. She shook her surprise off and nodded her head nervously. I don't know if she had gratitude or was just using me as a means to survive.
I push up the rubble, and she crawls out. She tries to get up, but almost instantly falls over. I catch her with one arm and set her down on a wall.
"Why are you helping me?" She asked, her voice hoarse.
I blink and scratch my cheek. "I don't really know... but do you know the exit?" I asked.
She laughed bitterly. "Yes, but it's not like it matters." She said.
"Why's that?" I asked.
"This is a horsemen nest. The whole place is probably swarming with them." She mumbled, looking at her ankle which was cut. I notice the pain and pull out some gauze.
Her eyes widen as I pull her boot off and start bandwagon her ankle. She hid her face as I did this, is she angry at being so helpless?
"T-Thank you... but warn me when you do that." She said, she looked up at me with a blushed face. Ah, she was embarrassed.
I point and laugh. "Haha, a vampire being embarrassed by something like that? That's hilarious~!" I said teasingly.
She pushed me to make me shut up, I could tell it wasn't meant to actually hurt me. She used the wall as support as she looked down the subway tunnel.
"The exit is about a block away." She said under her breath. She tried to step off the wall, but almost fell again.
I quickly grab her again and pull her arm over my shoulder for support. She squirms at first, but I start to walk and ignore her squirming.
"Calm down! I'll help you if you help me, okay?" I said, successfully making her stop. "Besides, you can't move with that injury."
She fell silent, and I heard her gulp. "You know, I could've killed you. I have a free target to your neck right now." She mumbled.
That's true. She could've bit my neck and started to drink away at any time. The blood would make her heal quicker too.
"So?" I asked.
