Claire POV

Waiting in the room silently, the cold but at my skin. I hug my shoulders and let out a breath, and watch the most go into the air.

After telling Waylon my warning, me and the others immediately headed to the point. This area was where we were going to start the attack.

I just hope he got my message. From that far away, I knew yelling wouldn't reach him, and plus Allan was standing right next to me. He would've changed course just to see Waylon again.

Allan has been obsessed with the idea of drinking Waylon' blood ever since the fight a month ago. He wouldn't shut up about it. I warned Waylon so he'd stay away, maybe he isn't gonna be in the next fight?

Hopefully he's just on a scouting mission or something, but I know that's too good to be true. He's no doubt heading to where the demon army camp is and going to defend against us in Shinjuku.

If things go down to it, will I have to fight him? I don't want to. Waylon had waved back yesterday, meaning he was still friendly. But his expression didn't change.

Does he feel conflicted about being on some sort of twisted truce with me? I would if I was him.

"What are you waiting for?" Said a voice, making me jump and look to the doorway.

There stood Mika, his blond hair looking as if he had bed head. Did he not sleep well?

"Waiting for Allan to get orders. We're almost to the contact point. We'll no doubt get into a fight." I said, passing my gaze out the window.

Mika shifted a bit, then sighed. "I guess." He mumbled.

He sat down quietly, and for awhile, we both didn't say anything. But something had been itching me for a long time. So I decided to ask, I think I had been around him enough to make him comfortable talking to me.

"So... What was it like being human?" I asked, looking away from the window and meeting his blue eyes.

At first he didn't answer, then he took a deep breath. "You feel weak. When something stronger than you is upon you, and you know you can't do anything by endlessly struggle against them in vain, then it makes you feel weak." He explained, then looked me in the eyes.

"That's what it feels like to be human. Why ask?" He swiveled to me to face me instead of sideways.

I look down at my feet. "I was wondering what it felt like for my mother. She was human, so I guess I wanted to know how she felt around my father."

"Yes... Your a half breed, right? Isn't that rare?" He wondered aloud, then looked at me for an answer.

"Apparently."

We both went silent as Allan walked into the room, looking back and forth between the both of us for awhile, then pointed behind him with a jerk of his thumb.

"We're heading out. Almost there, so get ready for one hell of a hike." He said.

Allan left the room as Mika and I stood from our seats and headed to the door. Mika grabbed onto my shoulder to stop me and looked me in the eyes.

"I can trust you, right?" He asked, he sounded as if the words were alien to him.

I nod slowly, and he nods, leaving the room without another word.

Yu POV

"C'mon, were almost to the area where we can meet up!" Mitsuba yelled from up the street.

We have been walking this whole time and it's really a pain. I'm starting to feel like I should ask Kimizuki if he should carry me. I groan as I slouch.

"Giving up?" Waylon asked, still looking ahead as he did.

I groan again. "Shut up! This is a pain in the ass."

Yoichi, who was ahead of all of us, stopped in his tracks and pointed ahead, a big smile on his face. "Hey! Maybe we won't have to walk!"

"Huh?" I exclaim as we catch up and see the jeep near the side of the road, untouched.

"Someone must've abandoned it. Looks like it hasn't been touched in awhile." Kimizuki said, walking up to it and opening the door to the drivers seat. He scanned the seats.

"No keys... I'm gonna have to hotwire this thing." Kimizuki added, sliding the chair back and looking under the wheel, starting to tinker with the wires.

"You can hotwire cars?! That awesome!" I said, walking over to him excitedly.

Waylon sat down on the hood and sighed. "Stopping like this better not be for nothing." He said.

Shinoa smiled. "Dont worry, you mean will fix up the car!" She said.

"While you do what?" I asked, giving her a blank look.

"Relaxing over there of course!" She said with a giant smile as she trotted off with Mitsuba to sit near a broken down cafe.

Yoichi gave a nervous smile. "The girls are real slave drivers huh?"
"You said it." Waylon said, laying his back in the hood and closing his eyes.

I watch Kimizuki impatiently, and poke him after awhile. He turns to me with an annoyed look. "What?"

"Can I drive if you get it started?" I asked.

"No."

"Why not?"

"Cause if you drive we'll be dead before we even see a vampire." Waylon said, catching our attention.

I grit my teeth. "What was that?!"

Yoichi put his hands out in front of me. "Lets get along guys-"

Just as he's saying this, the engine of the jeep suddenly jumps into action, roaring to life. Kimizuki grinned at his handy work and got out, waving over to the girls for them to come over.

As they came over, Shinoa pushed past us and sat in the front seat with a grin. "All aboard! I'll get us to the meet up point no problem!" She said.

We all stare as she tries to look over the steering wheel, moving around to get a better angle at the road. Kimizuki and me burst into laughter.

"Yeah right! Your too short!" I said, holding my gut.

"Your like a midget!" Kimizuki piped in, we both laughed as Shinoa slowly looked over at us with an evil glare.

"Excuse me~?" She said, her voice dark and making a shiver go down my spine.

The road was silent, there wasn't enough room in the whole jeep for all of us, so Waylon volunteered to ride on top of the jeep, holding onto the handles.

Me and Kimizuki sit in the front, our uniforms dirty and our faces scuffed up from the punishment we received from Shinoa.

"Hey... let's not make Shinoa mad anymore." I mumbled.

"For once... I agree." Kimizuki sighed, watching us head up the long highway towards our destination.
