4 day later...
Claire POV
I leaned against the wooden house behind me. I let out a fresh breath of air and stretched wide. It was late in the afternoon, I could see the sun setting in the distance.
We had stopped in a small village near the edge of the ocean, we had helped the people in the village and they offered for us to stay.
Now everything was silent.
With all that happened a few days ago, I'd think it would never had calmed down; but now look at our situation. I look in the distance and see Mika walking towards me, in a fast pace.
"Going to check on Yu?" I asked, just as he passed. He gave me a nod and I followed. We headed near the edge of town, to a shed. When we entered, the dangerous aura was still there.
There on a wall was Yu, chained tight. He looked up at us, his voice eyes a dark red color, and horns coming from his head.
It seemed that to get him to snap out of his phase back at the airport, his demon pushed Yu into letting him take over for a second. But this sadly has caused a period of time where Yu is taken over by his demon contract.
It lasts only about three minutes, and I was outside the shed keeping watch over him while Mika got fresh chains, the old ones were a bit rusted, but worked nicely. They were made of enchanted metal to keep the demons power at bay.
Yu, or the demon, smile d up at us. "Mika, hey, can you get me out of these chains already? They kind of hurt." It said.
Me or Mika didn't say anything, the both of us looked at the stop watch in Mika's hand, as it ticked down the last of the time. We had calculated the time that he gets taken over. It's always near sunset, and it lasts a small amount of time.
"Hey, Mika, were family, right? Don't you care about me?" It asked in a fake pitiful voice.
Mika looked up from the watch. "No. I don't care about a demon, I care about Yu." He said with a straight face.
The demon suddenly got angry and snarled, pulling at its chains and yelling at us. "Let me go! I'll kill you! I'll rip you apart!" It yelled.
Then, just as it was getting more riled up, the horns went back into his head, and disappeared. He blinked and his eyes went back to normal, he looked around in confusion, and gave us a nervous grin.
"I'm back." He said shortly.
Mika frowned as he let his free of his chains. "This is a problem." He mumbled.
"Well, yeah, of course it's a problem." I said, crossing my arms. But Mika bit his lip, he looked distressed.
"I've noticed, every day the time increases by about ten to fifteen seconds." Mika said. This simply meant that every day he was more closer to becoming a demon fully. In a few years he'd only have a few moments a day to be human, or maybe none even.
Yu just shrugged. "Oh well, it's fine for now." He said care freely. Mika started to scold him, just as Shinoa came in and looked over at the chains.
"Looks like getting the extra chains was a good idea after all." She said, starting to pull the old ones out and implant the new ones. I walk over to help as Yu watches.
"Hey, is Yoichi and Kimizuki back?" He asked over our shoulders.
"They got back about a minute ago, but Yoichi is asleep already." Shinoa exclaimed, giving out a sigh. "Been working too hard."
Yu nodded and headed out with Mika on his heel, still trying to scold him about how he should be more worried about his current situation. I agree with Mika, but it is important to stay optimistic in times like these.
