Happy 40th chapter!

Shinoa POV

I sat down at the table with Yu and Mitsuba, as Mika set the pancakes in front of us all. I hadn't had a decent meal since we left, so this was very nice.

I also was glad someone other than Kimizuki could cook, Mika and him were having a ball in the kitchen. As a woman, Yu said I should be ashamed. But I quickly shut him up with a swift fist to his gut.

I took a fork and plowed into the pancakes, the moisture and springy texture was perfect. I smile and put a hand on my cheek. "Ah~! I know you'll make a lucky girl happy someday, Mika." I said.

Mika just raised an eyebrow at that statement, and sat down next to Yuu, quietly watching us eat. Waylon then came into the kitchen, a grin went to his face when he saw the pancakes.

I think he took the most out of all of us. I watched him with a glance how he placed them on his plate carefully with his one hand, and then picked it up. He placed it down at the table and then went to get a glass of water.

Poor pancakes never had a chance. Waylon has a big appetite, from what I've seen. He rubbed his stomach when he was done and sighed with happiness.

"Mika, your amazing." He said, his face still in bliss. Mika only looked at him with a blank statement.

But I know what Mika wants to talk about. "So, how is your demon holding up, Yu?" I asked.

Yu looked at me in the eye with a hint of annoyance, and crossed his arms. "I'm perfectly fine. Leave it alone." He said.

"Yu, your not fine. It's taken you over so much it's become normal." Mika said, squinting at him with a serious face.

Yu looked at the ground with a stubborn face, until Waylon stopped eating, pointing his knife in Yu's face. Waylon's face became scary for a split second before going into a kind(fake) smile.

"Were talking about it. If you don't want, I'll let Lilith feed on you~." He said with dark aura around him. The color drained from Yu's face and he nodded and obeyed.

Waylon can be scary at times, but I suppose he only does that because he cares about us. Before he didn't care for us at all, which makes me happy he can be himself around us. But I also know he thinks of us as naive.

"Fine... it's gotten... a bit worse." Yu said with a nervous half smile. This sends me and Mika into a frown. Waylon begins to grab his dishes and walk over to the sink, cleaning them off with his one hand.

Right then Mitsuba comes in and sees what Waylon is doing. "I'll do that, it's dish duty for me today anyway." She said, pushing Waylon out of the way and doing the dishes herself. Waylon stood there for a moment, then walked outside. I bet he feels like a burden. While we're trying to help him, I'm not sure whether he wants us to or not.

Mika keeps pushing on the demon subject. "We need to spend our time on finding a cure for whatever is happening to you!" He said.

Yu wouldn't have it though. "I thought I said I wanted to go save Kimizuki's little sister and Guren!" He said, standing up and slamming his hands on the table. "We can look for a cure afterwords!"

"No! Your well-being comes first before-!" Mika started to interject, but Yu completely ignored him and walked out of the house with a frustrated looking face.

Mika is about to chase, but I put a hand out to stop him. "Let me try and talk with him. If he sees you he'll just get more irritated." I exclaimed.

Mika opened his mouth to say something, but shut it slowly and nodded. He turned back to the kitchen and began helping with cleaning.

I slip out of the house and look around. I spot Yu's figure at the beach, looking out at the sea. I jog over to him and slow once I'm close enough. He's so entranced by the sea that he hasn't noticed me behind him. I grin and suddenly poke his hips.
