Mika POV

The humans were coming.

I sat on the rooftop, the large force of humans were walking through a street as me and my squad watched them. Everywhere around them we had them surrounded.

I scan each and every face for a sign of Yu, but none come up. He would have had to join their army, he hates vampires and would do anything to... Kill them.

I slight tinge of pain went up in my chest thinking of him seeing me and looking at me in fear or disgust, maybe both. But even if he ends up hating me, I'll save him no matter what.

Beside me, Claire shifts in weight, scanning the faces as well. Who is she looking for? Out of everyone here, she seems to act the most human... is being stubborn and having more emotions just a human trait?

I guess that trait stuck with me then, because I'm pretty stubborn about getting Yu back. The very thought of what those humans did to him makes me tremble with anger.

"Almost time." Allan said, on my other side. He was sort of a suck bag to me, seeing how he treated me and everyone else. He never took me seriously, and once told me to go crawl back to the humans where I belonged.

I just give a short nod and turn to Claire. "What are you looking for?" I asked, wanting to up a conversation to keep me from thinking too hard about saving people.

She gave a short and wry smile. "Nothing really. Just... don't like to forget who I kill." She said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because they are alive." She replied, making me freeze.

All this time and I remember that they are alive as well. I used to be human so why didn't I realize that? I neglect humans for what they did to Yu, but...

I look down at the faces of the humans.

And I start remembering their faces.

Waylon POV

Running with Mitsuba on my back wasn't hard. In fact, I kind of enjoyed that I was getting more of a work out. The more stronger I get the better.

Though it was a bit... distracting.

I mean, how can boobs get that big? The darn things are crushed against my back, and I have to focus on what's in front of me at the moment! She's six teen right? Damn the hormones are strong with this one.

I ignore the slightly nice feeling on my back and look ahead to see the block of the city where we would be conducting the final push. My mind whirled thinking of all the fighting and bloodshed.

Just how many are going to die in this fight?

I heave a sigh as we run and Yoichi notices. "Something the matter, Waylon?" He asked.

I give him a grim look. "Nothing. Just feeling a bit antsy about this scenario." I said.

Shinoa laughed ahead of us. "Our senior is nervous? Hear that, Yu? He might be weaker than you after all!" She said with a devilish grin.

"This is not the time to be playing around." I snapped, making Shinoa back off like a whimpering dog. These guys needed to be more serious, or it would be the death of them.

I wasn't serious.

But now I am.

"Almost there." Mitsuba said from over my shoulder, her hair flew next to my face, so I could smell her perfume. I tried to focus on something else as I run. Maybe she can walk on her own? No, that's stupid, it'd slow us down.

Over coms, we hear a something come through to our radio.

"We've been engaged with a large number of vampires! I repeat! The main unit is-! Crap-!"

The line went dead after that. We all kept running, and Yu turned off the radio, as if we never heard it come out. He did the right thing, ignore the danger. The main division has Guren in it, so they should put up at least a small fight.

"Ready? We're about two minutes away." Kimizuki asked us all.

I give a short nod as do the others. Even if they didn't say it, this group radiated nervousness. I'm not gonna be a hypocrite and say I'm not, but I'm much less than all of them. I've done this before, I know how it goes.

Only difference this time is that none of my team is going to die.

Mika POV (yay, more fangirling for you!)

We commenced the attack more quickly than I thought we would. The humans didn't see it coming, that was for sure. The first human I got to was already disarmed and kicked into a building within two seconds.

Claire seemed to hold her own much better than when we were protecting the Lord's of Cerberus. She took down two men and quickly followed behind me. It was nice to have someone watch my back for once.

The humans fought against us, but they soon dwindled fast. Their forces were torn through from the ambush, and the only ones left standing were the higher up looking people.

Behind me, a hand touches my shoulder. "Looks like award-winning, would you look at that?" Said Ferid, a smirk on his face and flashing his teeth through it.

For some reason, Claire backed off from Ferid and pretended she wasn't there. Was she uncomfortable around him or something? I wouldn't be surprised if many thought this guy was weird. I spent my childhood putting on a fake act to get food and other supplies for my family.

And look where that got us.

Now Yu is somewhere out there being used by humans, and its my fault. I pushback the thought and focus on the situation. It seemed that one of the humans was not backing down.

His uniform was different than the rest, instead of a green tint it had red. Maybe he was the commander? I squint at him and take out my sword again, charging at him.

"I'll take the leader." I said calmly, but really I want to question him about Yu. If he knows anything I'll keep him alive.

The human didn't seem to expect me attacking, because my first blow grazed his shoulder, and he side stepped out of the swing. He slashed at me, but I easily deflected.

"Damn it!" He said under his breath, just as he took out a box of pills.

I quickly sweat them out of his hand, and slash at his torso, getting a deeper cut than before. He grit his teeth and clenched his wound, and as he tried to slash at me again, I slashed his sword out of his hand.

"Tell me where a boy named Yuichiro Hyakuya is in your ranks." I said, aiming the blade at his chest.

The man flinched a bit, and looked up at me in the eyes. He was a rather tall man, with black hair and stern eyes. He smirked at me after a moment.

"Screw you." He said.

"Fine." I said, pushing my swords end into his chest, causing blood to spill onto the floor. As I'm doing this, I hear shouting from other vampires.

"More of them, watch out!" One yelled.

"Gureeeen!" I heard a human shouting.

I sighed and pulled my sword out of the man's chest. "More? When will you learn-!"

I stop mid sentence, seeing a face running at me full speed. A face that was so familiar yet was formed differently in some ways. The face was more mature than the last time I saw it.

But I couldn't think about that as the person pushed his sword into my chest, causing my to cough blood. We stared into each others eyes in surprise, and he finally said something to confirm my suspicion.

"Mika?" Yu whispered, his voice shaking.

(And I leave you with a cliff hanger of course! Yay! I hope you will like the changes I put in with Waylon in this part. Nonetheless I hope you have a wonderful day!) - MnMs171
