Claire POV
Walking the street seemed to make me weary. I used to find this city very relaxing, but now I was practically suffocating. With each step I felt like I was being compressed into something smaller.
Beside me was Mika, who was wearing a hood along with me. We weren't sure if any of the other vampires in the city would know if we betray them, so we were keeping it as covert as possible.
I glanced up at the large castle at our side, the one we have been scouting for about a day now. Watching the guards times of patrol, we had it down to a good pattern. We couldn't waste anymore time in marking down the times, so we were sneaking in as soon as we got back to the others.
"Is Krul really being held in this castle? Wouldn't there be more guards?" I asked Mika, who was watching the street in front of us.
"I suppose. But that's why we have to bet everything on one try. No do-overs." He said, taking a turn towards the way we came. I supposed that was the signal to go back to the mansion, so I followed him immediately.
Mika glanced back at me as we walked. "Tell me. What do you think of the other humans with Yu? I know you trust Waylon, but what about the others?" He asked.
I shrugged. "If Waylon can trust them then so can I."
Mika seemed to think on this as we turned toward the mansion front, and I opened the gate with my keys. The garden wasn't tended to for a long time, so all the flowers were dead and the trees weren't watered.
Most vampires weren't into much hobbies, but my mother used to love working in this garden. It made me depressed to see it in such a state.
Mika opened the door and let me inside. As I stepped in, I saw Kimizuki, who was watching the door. "Are you guys done?" He asked.
I nodded, and he stood then, walking towards the lounge area. Everyone was probably there, waiting for our return. I felt myself eager to talk to Waylon, I hasn't gotten much of a chance to talk to him one on one for awhile.
As we followed Kimizuki into the lounge, we find the others. Yoichi and Yu were both playing a game of chess, in which it seemed Yu was losing. His brow was furrowed with frustration.
Shinoa watched the two play and made fun of each of their turns, saying what they should have done and the such.
The only two who were missing were Waylon and Mitsuba, who I then found my glance finding them in the kitchen, which could be seen from the lounge.
Waylon guided Mitsuba's hand with a knife, slowly cutting an Apple. How he did that with one hand was beyond me. But something nagged at me when I saw them together.
I frown and meet eyes with Waylon.
"Is it on?" Waylon asked, letting Mitsuba take care of the rest. It was probably my imagination, but Mitsuba looked a bit disappointed that he went away.
"Hello~?" Waylon said as he waved his hand in front of my eyes. I snapped out of it and nodded, not able to say anything from how flustered I was. What was my heart doing? Felt like it was twisting around.
"Good. Everyone, get ready." Waylon said. At his word everyone grabbed their weapons and they all headed to the door, throwing on some white vampire grabs to disguise themselves.
As I walked to the front door, everyone froze from the sudden sound of the door being knocked.
We all looked at one another, there was no one unaccounted for in our group. That means the only ones at the door could be vampires. Waylon pulled out his gun and leaned against the wall close to the door.
He looked over at Yu, who went to the other side. "You open it, Mika." Yu said. Mika nodded, then grabbed onto the handle. There was a brief pause, then he swung it open.
Mika's eyes went wide and as Yu and Waylon came out of their spots to attack they both froze also in sight of who it was.
Ferid smiled at everyone and waved. "Looks like I got the right address. How do you do?"
Allan POV
I sat in the chair and waited for instruction from him, though he just sat there in the chair, inspecting a human skull. Getting impatient, I lean a little towards him.
"Why did you call me here?" I asked. "If I'm even seen with you I'll be killed."
The boy sitting in the chair looked up at me, his red and black eyes studying me. "Ah, I did call you didn't I?" He said as if remembering just then.
I grit my teeth, this man has a large amount of ignorance to say such things in the situation he is in. Pushing aside the anger I focus and get to the point.
"So, you have a plan? A plan to take care of Claire and that other traitor." I exclaimed, raising an eyebrow while questioning him.
The boy smiled, as he did he stood, spreading his arms as if hugging someone invisible. "Yes! The vision I have for my dear brother is so much brighter than helping those ignorant humans. He should be drinking fountains of the blood he misspelled and instead he's playing family with humans?" He said, complaining.
I frowned. "Me and my men will follow your plan as long as the traitors get what's coming them, and the humans have been killed, of course-!" I stop abruptly as the boy put a hand in front of my face.
"No no! No killing any of them! We must save them for the feast! What good family reunion is full without food?" He said, turning back around and laughing while hiding his face in his hands. "But will brother like that? I'm sure he'd be angry. Oh well, must do fathers bidding. Must remind brother of his reason."
I sighed and stood, grabbing my sword from the table and glancing back at him talking to himself. "Fine. We take them all alive. They'll die in the end anyway." I said.
The boy with pure white hair looked over at me with a smile. "Very well." His voice suddenly calm. "I will tell you the plan at a later date when I am calmed. But you must forgive me, I'm just excited about seeing family!"
"Sure you are." I said, this fool is stupid and insane. Turning around I walked out of the room and closed the door behind me. I pulled my gloves on and nodded to the man standing by the door.
Pulling out my Mic, I talked into it. "Send some people to get the plan from him. Be careful, I hate working with his kind."
