Twenty parts! Here's to much more!

Mitsuba POV

The walk there was long and hard, soon each footsteps felt sore and my feet hurt. But I ignore it and try not to whine about it. But it seems Shinoa does the opposite.

"Ugh. It seems my feet hurt, I wonder which boy will be my knight and shining armor and lend me a hand~." Shinoa said, a grin on her face as all the boys shifted away from her.

By all the boys I mean Yu, Kimizuki, and Yoichi. Waylon forged ahead, he hasn't spoken a single word since he snapped at Yoichi. I'm not going to say that we don't get treated like that from vampires, but it still doesn't mean we don't have to act like them.

I want Waylon to know that's what we meant, it's just Yu was being an idiot like always and said things in a blunt matter. We need Waylon if we're going to get through to Shinjuku.

Suddenly, Waylon stopped and looked back at us, and for the first time in a couple of hours he talked. "I'll carry you once you pass out, now let's get a move on." He said plainly.

Shinoa laughed nervously. "I think we should get some rest though." She said.

"I think we should keep moving." He said back.

Shinoa' smile became a bit dark and she said in a more serious tone. "We will stop for the night... here." She said.

Waylon visibly shivered, guess even he can't not be afraid of Shinoa when she wants something. But I'm not complaining with her decision, and neither are the others. We all sit down, Yu and Yoichi start to grab logs from fallen vines to burn.

Waylon sits on a fallen tree in the middle of the road, looking at the sky. He slowly laid down on it and sighed deeply, closing his eyes. Looking at him now, he looked very peaceful.

His skin was flawless, and his curly hair blew in the slight wind. He reached up to his hat and pulled it down a bit more, so the light was blocked from his eyes.

Kimizuki walked over to him slowly, seemingly nervous about talking to him. "Hey. Can you help with the unpacking. I need help organizing the-"

"Sure." Waylon said, pulling his hat off and placing it down on the fallen tree, jumping off of it and landing next to Kimizuki with a straight face.

Kimizuki didn't seem like he expected that answer, but he pointed to the bags and they both wandered over to the bags. I smile, it's good to see someone is trying to be friendly with him.

Waylon POV

Settling down for the night wasn't that hard once you get a fire going. Now all we did was cook the rations we brought over the fire and talk, well, they talked, I managed the food silently.

Cooking outside was familiar to me, Tsuhiko had taught me how to cook a variety of things, including salty military rations. But thankfully, I had my own sweets hidden in my bag none of my squad mates knew about.

"So I think we should get up bright and early so we can catch up to the main force." Shinoa said, pointing at a map where we would be meeting with Guren.

Yu nodded. "I'm fine with that, but how early are we talking?"

"Bright and early. So we should get to bed after we eat." She said, looking over at me, I was still stirring the meat very skillfully.

I sniff the steam coming from it and reel my head back, I dig one hand into my bag and pull out some special seasoning that Tsuhiko used to make, she had taught me how to make it as well.

This special spicing could make any food that tasted like this salty stuff into a great meal. It seems Mitsuba noticed what I had added and leaned over my shoulder, her hair brushed against my cheek, and I flinched a bit.

"What did you just put in?" She asked, as if it might be poison.

"Just some seasoning." I mumbled, leaning my head away from her, trying to make her see I have personal space that I don't want disturbed.

With the food now boiling, I take the pan to everyone's bowls and one by one I pour some into it. What was in there was military spam, canned. Usually it tasted really salty, but now that I added that spice.

Once I'm done passing it out, I notice that everyone didn't exactly get much, I walk back around and pour a part of mine into everyone's bowls.

"You need to eat too." Yoichi said.

"I'll be fine for tonight." I said, walking back to the tree I had sitting on earlier and propping myself up on it.

I hear Yu do a little cheer. "Whoa! This stuff tastes better than I thought!" He said with a grin.

"So, what was the sauce you added, Waylon?" Shinoa asked, peaking over at me.

"Some homemade stuff." I said, not looking over at them, but looking up at the stars in the sky.

"You made this? What did you use?" Kimizuki asked, obviously wanting to remember it for himself later.

"Family recipe."

Yu tilted his head. "But you don't have a family-!"

Shinoa covered his mouth, and laughed nervously. "Really? That's pretty cool... hehehe."

I sighed, turning back around and facing them. "Yeah, your right. I don't have a family. I meant that my adoptive parent taught me how to make it." I said to Yu.

None of them looked like they expected me to a dress it, but I could at least tell them about Tsuhiko. It'll make things a bit less awkward between us.

"Adoptive parent?" Yoichi asked.

"Someone took me in when I was small, a woman in the moon demon company named Tsuhiko Kojima." I said, causing Shinoa' eyes to sparkle a bit.

"You mean the very popular one?" She said, "the one that died about a month ago?"

I didn't know it had been that long since then. A month? It's really been a whole month since that day? I didn't even count. It felt so much smaller of a time than that.

"Yeah. That one." I said, looking into the fire.

Everyone was quiet for a long time, then I spoke up again. "Well, enough about that. It's a dull subject. Any other subjects you want to bring up?" I said, intentionally breaking the ice.

Shinoa smiled at this. "Yes! How about this, are you in a relationship right now?" She asked.

"No. Why am I the only one getting asked this?" I asked, but no one answer me.

"Great, another virgin." Shinoa said, sighing.

"But your a virgin. You've never dated anyone either." I said plainly.

Shinoa flinched, and wore a nervous smile that twitched. "H-How do you know that?"

"Your attitude."

It was silent.

Shinoa took out her demon key and smiled at all of the boys, including me. "You didn't just say that, right~!" She said in a dark voice.

The color out of Yoichi' face drained. "W-Why all of us?!"
