The Cat's Whisper Chapter 23: Is It Enough?

Story so far.....

Now that Nomika was caught by Aya, Kurotatsu followed them in their so-called Demon's Lair. There, Nomika saw her brother and now knows the truth behind her brother's disappearance but still no sign or clue with their parents. Aya killed her brother and Nomika is in a rage. Aya was about to kill her when Kurotatsu held the attack and was kicked until he was sent flying. Nomika recovered from the restrainers and sent Aya from her own tricks. She pulled out a letter when Kurotatsu is resting on her lap. She began to read it and they all began to cry, did Nomika touched Aya's heart?

[Aya's View]

"Stop it! Stop reading it!"

I really can't bear to listen to the stories we talked about years ago. I really can't help myself in listening to that worthless story.

" No matter what you do, you can't release my inner me!"

[Nomika's View]

I read the letter but I think it's not enough to touch her within.

"No matter what you do, you can't release my inner me!" you finally spoke up. You gave me a reason to release the real you. I have thought of things I can do against you but nothing comes up in my mind.

"Better stop yourself from thinking. You might hurt yourself at the end."

I really can't explain but I think your true self wants me to think further.

Kurotatsu woke up but still can't get up on himself. He gave me a pen and a paper. I was surprised that he was able to get materials but, what for?

"I told you to stop thinking you idiot!"

After you said that, I gave the pen and the paper to you. You had second thoughts but you wrote something there, something like a pair of symbols. You gave me the paper and let me read it. It has a meaning. I don't remember this pair of symbols but I tried.

After a while.....

You always refrained to look at me but I can't stop thinking. Kurotatsu then finally woke up that caught my attention. The paper slipped off of my hands and fell in the lava dome. I can't stop from worrying. I was too worried that I felt numb. I felt hopeless and helpless.

"You might need to draw it again." You said it softly that only a rat can hear.

Kurotatsu gave me a piece of paper and I drew it. Exact as the symbol you drew awhile ago. I felt a little buzz and heard that you move.

" So... the real me gained access in the real world. You talked to her, am I right?"

"How did you know?"

"It's my body. Never thought of that?"

You kept on restraining so you can escape and destroy me. I really don't know what I just did but the metal clanged and restrained you more. You coughed out two to three drops of blood.

"Guess this will be the solution"

[ Aya's View]

While you were singing the song.....

How did you know that song? It went in my mind circling that I could be dizzy in a matter of seconds. Then I remembered....

It was mother's lullaby song.

[Flashback]

" Mommy I can't go to sleep."

" Do you want mommy to sing her lullaby?"

"Yes, please" while nodding.

[End of flashback]

I felt a bit queesy. I was in shock that I want to stay on my place so I could listen to the song. How many years has it been already? Two.... Three??? Four??? I don't know. I juat want to stay and listen.

After the song....

I feeled refreshed but I can hear my master's call.

" I guess I can't stay here forever"

After saying that, I just vanished right their very eyes.

[ Kurotatsu's View]

We might not be able to touch Aya's heart deeply but at least she made her open a little.

" We should go now" I softly whispered on Nomika's ear and went out of the place to go home.

[Nomika's View]

The next day.....

I was sleeping when I felt a beat.

*Dugdug..... dugdug...dugdug...*

Is this a song?!?!

I realised that I was not just sleeping on the bed. I was also sleeping on Kurotatsu. I moved until I got away from you. Because of my movements you woke up and asked what's wrong.

"IDIOT!!!!! Who told you that you can sleep beside me?"

"Would you please let me explain -_- ???"

"Oh... Don't you poker face me! I demand an explanation, now!"

"Yesterday, you were so tired that you slept on the way to home. I carried you to your bed. Let you down and sleep. I was preparing my bed when I went to sit down beside you and you suddenly hugged me tightly. I really can't move from your hug so I just slept beside you."

"Is that all?!?!!?" while pointing something to him.

"Yep, that's all"

"Speaking of yesterday, How's Aya by the time being? I wonder"

After a while....

"Nomika, Kurotatsu! Prepare for school!"

[Author's View]

They prepared themselves and went to school immediately.

*RIINNNNGGGG*

[Nomika's View]

"Let's just hope that something new will happen today"

At the classroom....

"Class we have a new classmate. His name is Aaron. Let's give him a warm welcome!"

Sheeshh.... This teacher just can't get enough. Just adding students up.

He went inside.

I can smell something fishy here. Like something bad will happen.

I looked at him and he looks back. There really is something fishy here..

Fishy..Fishy...Fishy...
