Y/N's POV
2 Days Later~
"Thanks for dropping off Shota!" I said as I closed the door of the car behind me.
I stood by it as the man got off the car and leaned against it. "Got everything you need?" He said as he crossed his arms.
I checked the bag of luggage I carried. "Yup, everything's here. Also, make sure you watch over Burger! Take care of him, and don't overfeed him, the vet told me that he's a little overweight." I warn the man.
He scoffed a laugh. "Don't worry about him Y/N, focus on your time at the hospital." He walked around the car to reach where I was. There were mere inches in between us. Our shoes barely touching each other. "And Y/N, if there's any issue, call me, if you don't like working here, tell me and leave, they can't force you to stay against your will, even if it was what the director ordered." He whispered with a hint of worry as he looked down at my eyes.
Few strands of hair blew with the wind, adorning his face in the most beautiful way. I couldn't help myself. My fingers reach up to the strands and twirled them around. "No need to worry Shota, I'm sure I'll be fine, though I'm not so sure you'll manage without me by your side." I teased.
He smiled softly, leaning his head into my hand. "Yeah, I'm also wondering how I'll manage."
"If you can't help yourself just shoot me a quick message."
"I wouldn't want to bother you."
"Oh please, it's not like I'll be healing patients around the clock."

3 Days After
Oh how badly I had jinxed myself.
The last three days have been the description of modern legalized torture.
Everyday I had to wake up at the crack of dawn, after a night of sleeping in a cardboard hard bed.
Then on to heal patients, which was probably the most rewarding part of the whole job, until it got to ten at night and I was still busy working.
They had given me the office that Recovery Girl usually used when she came to work here. I was used to that aspect of things, what truly caught me off guard was the insane amount of paperwork that would come with this whole side job.
My eyes burned after looking at the screen of my desktop for three hours straight. "Shit I'm so tired." I groaned as I noticed the clock beside me read the hour 1:07am. Jeez look at the time.
I covered my face with my palms and looked up to the ceiling. The lights were turned off. Was it efficient? Probably not. Did it comfort me? Oddly enough, yes.
It reminded me of... Shota's room, his warmth, presence, his quiet words. It helped me forget all the dark memories within me.
It was silly of me, I knew that, but my mind couldn't help but run on about him, even when I knew that he probably didn't feel the same. Don't mistake kindness for love and all or whatever that saying says.
Ping.
My phone went off from my wooden desk, wringing me out of my thoughts.
You're really good at hiding, Y/N.
The message was simple, from an outsider's perspective it could've been a regular prank, but I knew better, that phone number, the last three digits, were familiar, horrifically familiar.
My breathing quickened, suddenly feeling engulfed by the darkness of my room.
What do you want Kai?
