Y/N's POV
The next day...
Crap why did I run out of the gym like that yesterday.
I was pacing endlessly in my room, though my body was tired from the gruesome day at work today, my mind wouldn't shake Shota or these foreign feelings away.
I know today was the licensing exam and everything, but it's already dark and he's not here.
Did the class get attacked by villains again? Was Shota injured?
These nonsensical questions kept playing loop in my head, Shota was strong, I had seen it first hand, yet thought of his hurt and bloodied body were haunting my conscious.
Unlike me, Burger slept peacefully on the corner of my messy and abandoned bed.
At least on of us is getting good sleep.
Suddenly I heard the quiet sound of a door closing.
Is he back?!
I answered my own question as I rushed out my room and started knocking on his door.
Was it polite to go banging at his door at around 10pm at night? No, but could this wait until tomorrow morning? Also no.
The door creaked open slowly, revealing a wide eyed Shota still in his hero costume.
"Uh...Y/N, what are you doing here?" He asked awkwardly as he scratched his nape.
He must think I'm a weirdo for running out on him yesterday.
"I just... wanted to see if you were okay, it's pretty late, and I thought that maybe you had gotten into some trouble.." the volume of my voice progressively dropped as my sentence grew on.
"Well I had to deal with a troublesome person." He answered.
"Wait so you did fight a villain?!" I asked worriedly.
The corner of his lip lifted the slightest bit with the hint of a smirk."More like a very annoying person that I'm not used to seeing."
"Oh...yeah." I muttered.
This is so embarrassing I might die, why am I worrying about him so much?it not like he's some defenseless child.
"Hey um Y/N, about yesterday." He started growing while avoiding my eyes. "I apologize if I made you uncomfortable, it's just.. I moved without thinking I shouldn't have overstepped your boundaries."
As he went on, it felt like he was building walls to lock me out.
I don't want that, I want Shota's presence, i don't care if he resents me for being awkward or not, I want to get to know him better, help him as he has helped me.
At my silence he spoke again."Y/N, I really am sor-"
"Listen Shota" I cut him off, looking him directly in the eyes. "What happened yesterday had nothing to do with you, and everything to do with me. I don't want you to keep blaming yourself, or making these assumptions that I hate your touch" when in reality I crave it so much. "I didn't have a normal childhood, so I know that sometimes I can act very awkwardly or clumsily, but It has nothing to do with you."
At this point, our bodies were closer. I could feel the heat of his breath fanning over my face.
His eyes changed into a worried yet sweet and caring look. He cupped my shoulder as he said. "You're great as you are Y/N, I just thought I might of... spooked you?"
I snorted a laugh at his confusion. "Far from it. I just left like a fool, because... somethings were clouding my mind."
His glare turned serious. "Is it about Kai? Did he message you again?" He asked exasperatedly, now clutching both my shoulders with urgency.
"Don't worry Sho, it's nothing like that." I said as I placed my hand over his own. "It was about some nonsense that I worry too much about."
He relaxed at my touch, putting a hand to his face, pinching at the bridge of his nose. "Sorry Y/N, it must be the lack of sleep." He said sighing.
By now, we were both unconsciously inside of his room. "I don't mind." I looked around and noticed a stack of exams. "Why don't I start grading those while you freshen up."
"What? No Y/N you must be tired yourself, I'll grade those myself it's my responsibility."
I approached his desk and pick up an exam, scanning its contents. "It's not as if I've never helped you grade before, and besides I'm not really tired." Lies, my eyes were fighting the instinct to close and remain shut for the entirety of the night.
He scratched his messy raven hair and sighed.
"You're too stubborn to back off... fine then, I'll shower, but once I come back, you're done grading, understood?"
I scoffed. "Got it sir."
With that he collected his clothes, and I was left with the decently sized pile of quizzes and exams.
