Chapter 40~

AIZAWA's POV

Days had passed since my conversation with Night Eye. He held a meeting with other heroes and internship students, where a plan was proposed, and now we could bear the fruits of our labor.

The hold on my scarf trembled only for an instant when I met her figure.

It's as if time had stopped completely, only her, and I remained unaffected, our eyes met, hers looked solemn and tired, yet she smiled in relief.

Her doe-like eyes squinting as her rosy cheeks rose with her smile.

She was laying down, or more like she fell down. She had Eri in her grasp, much like a guardian would, and her body was-

"SECURE ERI AT ALL COSTS." Overhaul yelled to his lackies.

"MIRIO!" Night Eye followed suit, quickly running along side Midoriya to Togata's aid.

Get your act together Eraser.

I rushed behind them while keeping my eyes fixated on Chisaki's body as he smacked the floor pathetically in efforts of changing.

"DAMN IT WHY ISN'T IT WORKING?"

"MASTER, IT'S THE PRO HERO, ERASERHEAD."Chrono replied.

"DO SOMETHING." Chisaki ordered.

I shuffled through the up hilled ground until I reached Y/N and Eri.

As much as I wanted to look at her, comfort her, I had to focus on holding back Chisaki and getting everyone out of here safely first. I have to put my all into the task at hand

"S-shota" her voice broke like a sob.

My resolve shattered in that instant and I couldn't help but look into her now teary eyes.

Eri looked at her worriedly, and yet she only focused on me.

She looked beautiful.

The ground started shaking again. 

"ERASERHEAD FOCUS." Night Eye screamed from next to Mirio.

Shit.

I locked my eyes on his figure once more, the temptation of looking at her was ever so present.

Night Eye and Midoriya defended against the other thugs, as Mirio began shuffling towards Y/N and Eri. "Let's take this chance and leave." he told them both in a broken voice.

"Eri go with Lemillion." Y/N ushered the girl.

"You should come too Ms. L/N" Togata insisted weakly.

"Yeah, will you be alright Y/N?" Eri's tiny voice asked.

"I'll protect Y/N, you both shouldn't worry. Don't over do it Togata, go and take Eri to safety." I broke my silence.

It took a few seconds for his hesitant response to come through. "Alright sir. Let's go Eri."

Eri sounded doubtful and fearful of leaving. 

"Don't worry Eri, just follow Lemillion and he'll take you to safety." Y/N's tone became softer as she spoke to the child, a voice so melodious that it could lull one to sleep.

It seems like her words of encouragement were successful given how Eri soon enough left with Mirio as Night Eye fought of the villains.

"Y/N, did they do anythi-" My breath hitched as I felt a weight on my leg.

Even if my vision was focused on Chiskai, through my peripheral vision I caught a glimpse of her leaning against the back of my leg. "I missed you Shota." her voice was thick with emotion unlike before.
